One of my goals is to get proficient in machine quilting. I think a quilt from this fabric would be a great wY to practice and learn and I will have a nice gift or charity quilt at the end!
I stored a spray basted a full size quilt rolled up for over a year. Came back to it and quilted it with no problem. Didn't even iron it! Came out amazing.
Would love to see a video on ruler work! The quilt today turned out really cute. Would also be interested in the appearance of the quilt after washing. :)

from Gerry- I use pool noodles to store and to put my layers together, one noodle for each layer. It helps me keep the kinks out in my small space. God bless.
I agree with Tracy. The gauze should hold up well. I used gauze diapers for my kids. They were washed hundreds of times: every day for about a year and a half. ❤

I'm waiting on a quilter's table and ready to practice practice practice, as I am a total beginner but for now, I'm the queen of broken needles, so I hope I can get the hang if it with my domestic machine. I've made a couple of small quilts like this and I love them. Thrilled to see you do a vid of the process! It's really fun to do. Thanks for making me feel justified. lol
When I use spray basting I make the sandwich first so I know it is all lined up. Then I fold back half of the top, spray, unfold, do the second half, flit it over and repeat for the backing. I’ve started using pool noodles from the dollar and a quarter store to store quilts, it helps reduce creases.
I have that first fabric from Hobby Lobby too! I am currently making a bear, like the memory bears out of some of it and then I'm going to make a baby quilt to go with it, so I'll have a gift ready to go! Thanks for the idea about gauze for the backing, I would have thought it would be too thin, but worth a try!
Yes! Yes! I do want to see you free motion the new fabric! This quilt turned out great! I haven’t used gauze before, but I know of a baby due this spring. That might be a good option!

Love the fabric. Had never thought about using gauze for a backing! Would think it was too open a weave.
A good item to use to roll ot Re pool noodles. To make it for a bigger quilt put 2 pool noodles together in the ends with a piece of a wooden dowel.
