- Joe Garcia laid flowers at the grave of his wife, slain Robb Elementary School teacher Irma Garcia. Then, the grieving Uvalde, Texas, widower went home and died of a heart attack. His family says he died of a broken heart. But is that an actual medical condition? According to Dr. Devi Nampiaparampil, the heart actually can actually change shape during stressful periods, thanks to stress hormones like adrenaline.

I can't imagine, losing both of your parents in matter of a day. I honestly just can't, the trauma and grief sticks with you for a lifetime.
It's the worst of the worst. In highschool my friends dad died randomly, the mom got In her car and went to go see him, died in a car accident on the way, I just don't understand how/why things like this can even happen

My dad passed from a heart attack when my mom was in & out of the hospital. My mom died 11 months later. Broken heart syndrome is real. Especially for couples that have been together most of their adult lives. Prayers out to the 4 children left behind, God bless.

A disabled veteran already in a broken body, couldn't deal. I had a heart Cath 3 weeks ago and a part of my heart enlarged. I'm at risk, I'm grieving and buried 2 of them. I hope the people in Uvalde get through this, my heart goes out to the families.
