There were also relatively few big licensed themes to compete with MM and AfM back in the day. Would they have sold as well if they were sold alongside very good Deadpools, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, James Bond, Stranger Things, Avengers, Mandalorian, Elton John etc etc? As good as they are, I don't think so. Market is so different than it was in the 90s. If they want to sell a decent number of original themes the game/mechs has to be super stand out and fun. I just don't see it being worth it. But respect for trying.

Thanks! And interesting thought - animations could be less expensive to produce but the DMDs themselves are likely more expensive than LCD screens. Not to mention the perception of them feeling “old” which might impact sales...
I played Jaws pro last night on location. Not impressed, tbh. A lot of tight shots so for new players it is clunky, the mini flipper had very little power. Felt empty, too... I like hard games, like TMNT.
