When I bought my '05 Buell XB12 SCG for $10,500 I compared what I was getting compared to ANY other Harley and I was getting the best bang for buck. My bike came standard with an oil cooler, steel braided brake lines, fuel injection, huge floating disc brake and other H-D bikes at the time that cost $16k or more didn't even come with that stuff showed me how much they gouge the H-D rider. One time my bike was in the shop for a transmission warranty work and I had an Electra Glide Ultra as a loaner bike. It was a great highway bike as I couldn't use 6th gear unless I was going almost 80 but, it was a pig to ride around town just to run some errands. It weighed so much and was so bulky it was just too much bike for a daily rider.
$42000 for a bagger. You're nuts. The first house I bought was $40000.
The Pan America and Nightster don't look too bad, but all bikes are overpriced by about 5K.

I've been riding harleys since the late 60's and now own a 97 softail heritage but unfortunately the is the beginning of the end...

Yes retired 815 I have to agree with you my first hog was a 1974 fx 1200 glide. Had her for 20 great years I now ride a 1996 Dyna but I have to say the sportster S is one of the uglyist Harleys ever old sporters where pretty but now they have just look like to many other Japanese bikes. sorry young Harley fans

The Breakout, Was a Good Reason to make a newer Softail Version of a Harley, they handle Well , Got plenty of Get up and Go, and Highly customizable,into about Anything You’d wanna Ride on the Regular. it make a Great Base unit for a build-Off Project… Won first place in 2 Events and Was about the Best All day Rider without going to a Big Bike.. That I’ve ridden & I’ve been riding since 1962.. otherwise the Heritage has been always one of the Prettiest Bikes that’s dependable, That Harley has ever built… And I’m a Road King and Road Glide Fan as Well. I’ve had too many back surgeries now, And Docs are telling me , If I wanna continue my Love affair with My Harley-Davidson’s , That I’ve gotta go to 3 Wheels to take the weight off my Back at Stops and if Carrying a Rider… So, I’m Looking at this New RG-3 with heavy interest, Cuz they Are super Smooth and handle great, and Quick non the throttle.
$13000 for a sportster are you crazy it wasn't too long ago. They were literally $2999.99.

I lived in the best years of Harley. 70's through the late 2000's . Sorry that the company gave in to the Government Influence and control and make bikes you can't fix yourself, (and look Squishy ) But I get it, we are all dying off and the company needs to cater to the younger generation that can't touch a wrench cause it's dirty.
If you want to buy a Harley bike in the Netherlands , add 25% - 50% to those prizes due to the monopoly position. Of the importing dealer group ….
the only one left from the past is the fatboy, both Nightster and Sportster have lot their soul with water cooling and at HD price. After a 2015 FXDCI which I enjoyed very much till 2012, I discarded HD for a simple reason price and weight, Got myself 2 months ago, a Moto Guzzi V7 stone limited edition at half the price, 100kg lighter and still 100 % fun to ride.
in what world is a basic nightster for 13k is a budget bike. The rebel 1100 is 10k.
I heard Harley was a dying breed. I understand there are many used Haley's out there at a big discount. I've ridden them and they don't compare to my Yamaha cruisers!

I would love to see harley davidson produce an old school bike with SOME of the modern technology. Personally I would prefer a key compared to a fob anyday. Dodge went a little old school with the challenger and it looks good. Why can't harley do the same.

Beautiful bikes but just so overpriced. Most of the people i see riding tbem these days are solicitors and accountants etc. The rest of us buy a naked yamaha and dream of winning the lottery one day and buying a new harley. Mind you i am loving my yamaha. Ive had it just over a year and put 30 000kms on it already.
