Today I started building a homemade motorcycle. I'm building a motorcycle with a turbocharged diesel engine from a Volkswagen 1400cc car. Enjoy watching.

Nitrous oxide is how you make diesels go fast. Watched a video on a diesel drag car that used nitrous. Incredible!
Supplementary LPG with more boost also helps, to a lesser extent. The problem is our bodies are pathetically soft/squidgy. The punishment a 70bhp diesel can mete is a big issue. The Enfield Diesel owner's manual mentions this very thing.
It says about extended riding needing frequent breaks to avoid back/shoulder injury.

My Robin 270cc Diesel needs auto decompression for manual starting and is still a pita.

Why would you want to be dirty? Why are welders frightened of going blind, that's how dumb your question sounds.
Gloves protect your hands, that is why you use them, a smarter person might have figured it out on his own...
We aren't. Only some. Also, 2024 and rubber gloves are a fiver a box. I can well remember having a bath/day and still having gear oil stains on my neck/ears. Then I discovered JIF PROFESSIONAL.
Because your skin absorbs all those chemicals and lifetime of that can lead to some bad medical issues. Plus, why not?
why did you leave the exhaust gas recirculation system on instead of taking it off?
It helps throttled diesels run more smoothly on part load. The difference will be quite noticeable on a diesel bike. Kinder to our fucked planet too.
Some older tractor diesel's started up with gas and spark plugs to worme the engine temperature so it could fire up when selecting the diesel controle then of course you shut the gas valve and spark. I do know VW made turbocharged engines but the diesels had the high pressure injection pump with high pressure lines to the injectors in the head.
Cool build, I was actually thinking of using the same engine to build a buike from. What are you using for gearbox and drive shaft?

The Ford/PSA 1.5D is considerably more compact and lighter. The Citroen AX bellhousing and 1.4 AXD flywheel fits too, saving more KG. 70bhp.

The early VAG TDIs were ultimately designed by Audi and are among the most reliable diesel engines ever made... Atleast the 1.0 TDI, 1.2 TDI, 1.4 TDI and 1.9 TDI

this will probably have 2l/100km fuel consumption, with 200Nm on tap
While I’m the first one to tell you that X piece of equipment should have a diesel, I can’t think of a worst application for a diesel then a bike. A bike needs a lightweight high reving engine that makes HP, a diesel is the exact opposite. That bike won’t be able to get out of its own way with a diesel. Trucks, boats, and even lawnmowers should have diesels. Cars and bikes should not.
A 70bhp turbo diesel will be plenty quick enough. People build them because:
They have the prerequisite skills.
They are a fascinating project.
Do over 100mpg.
And because they can. Everything doesn't have to be the lightest/fastest/most efficient motorcycle to be fun. Otherwise we'd all ride RG500s. I have a 1969 Suzuki A100 chrome tank, 10bhp, 70mph. I can outride most Ducati on any Scottish country road on my Yamaha TZR250 because I've owned it since 1989 and know the bike inside-out :-)
