    Very nice and so easy. You can even add some thin string with beads on as a bit of bling.

    I love making tassels. I tore up a ton of Christmas fabric and used it all! Madi Azar used pop tabs to make one. I thought that was great cuz you could color them with alcohol Inks or paint them with nail polish. I use a clear tiny hair tie to hold my tassel together while I fart around with wrapping my twine, or jute, or whatever I’m using, around the top. Another hint I saw was from recreations by Brooke; she uses those floss thingies to thread her needle with larger things like jute or twine; could also use to bead with. I will be using the Pom Pom sewing idea. Thanks for the great tutorial, and happy holidays!

    Darling tassel!! Girl you are far more patient than me! I would have whipped out my box cutter and cut into that twine LOL. HUGS!

      Haha ... that's why I just put it aside and used something else because I was getting impatient and would have destroyed it if I kept trying lol

    Very detailed tutorial, thank you. I am also enjoying your ring binder series VERY much. Could you show us how to make a journal cover out of a paperback book? I have a special paperback that I want to use but not sure if or how I need to deconstruct it and put it back together properly.

    • @shawcraft1
      @shawcraft1  Před 5 lety

      Hey Teresa. I don't think I've ever done a journal out of a paperback, but let me do some playing around with it and see what I can figure out. Are you wanting to keep the cover in it's current condition, or would you cover it?

    • @teresahewson899
      @teresahewson899 Před 5 lety

      @@shawcraft1 I am wanting to save it because of the title and images on the front cover. But I wonder if it would be sewn to or glued to another surface for stability.

    • @shawcraft1
      @shawcraft1  Před 5 lety

      I would think that would be your best option. It would give it stability and I might would even cover it with a clear coat for protection. Another option would be to create a hard cover journal with a pocket and make a large tag out of your paper back cover and then slide it into the pocket. But if you want to see the whole cover, I'd think sewing it would be your best option

    Thank you! I wondered how they were made. One question...then how do you attach it to the book? And do they attach the same on hard books as well as cloth books? Two questions....thank you!!!! 👍

    • @shawcraft1
      @shawcraft1  Před 5 lety

      I usually put a hole in the spine of the book and hook the lanyard hook through it or hook the ring through it, but you can also use a binder clip to attach it if your book doesn't have the hole in the spine. They are the same for both hard cover and soft cover journals. YW and TFW!

    Next time try your needle threader to pull jute through bead.
