Laura do you have any suggestions for how to get rid of bugs nipping at the sweet potato vines? I just put a few in my flower bed with some supertunias and someone’s bitting on their leaves 😢. Need oil keeps coming up - not sure if it’s safe for all flowering /annuals.
@@Noname-mi9rr Neem is okay for plants but not pollinators. Try spaying your Neem at dusk or after dark.

Laura, I had a thought while you were planting those beautiful window boxes. You create the most amazing combination of plants & flowers. What if you did a video of recipes over the years….kinda like what Proven Winners does on their website. I just finished my window boxes & I said to myself….I want this combo of plants next year. My mental note may fade away….a video to remind me would be the best!😅😎

Love how the pegasus begonias have that reddish underside that ties in with the coleus and also the silvery spots that ties in with the dichondra. What a beautiful combination ❤

I had walked into a local greenhouse looking to see if they had the double up begonias, the first thing I saw were the blush pink begonias and my eyes about bugged out of my head! They are drop dead gorgeous and they came home with me!
I love that you love what you do! The little happy skip...that just screams "I love my job!" The color-way of these window boxes is very pleasing! I just bought a huge Impatiens hanging basket yesterday and now I want to go begonia shopping!

I bought up a few of those El Brighto coleus plants last year and looooved their vigor!! I had to cut them back a “few” times, bc they got SOOOOO HUUUUGE!! I was beyond impressed! I’m on the hunt for some this year but I haven’t had any luck yet 😢 I wonder why more people aren’t carrying them in their shops!?!? Anyhoo, I’ve loooved your channel for the past 5-6 years, and you are #1 on my playlist. Also wanted to say that Aaron is a very gifted cameraman and editor! (I know you have ken but I’m always impressed with Aaron’s creative direction) and of course Im in total Awe of you too Laura! You have a beautiful spirit and are such a hard worker! I love that you used the white guara as the center piece! I live in No. Arizona and I have tried every year to get white guara. I did manage to snag a pink...but no white to be had. Last year we traveled to Washington to see our son and on our way back to Arizona we took a side trip to Andrew's where I was able to buy three white guara! They'll be a year in July and they are beautiful! It was also a treat to finally get to see Andrew's in person!

What a Beautiful planting day --- my favorite is the Big Black Pots with all those plants. The color palette reminds me of your Moma. Had to rewind several times to see Benjamin planting ! What kind of phone does Aaron use to have all those Apps/Zones on his phone. It has always amazed me to see how y'all watch the weather to make sure each garden gets its watering --- so proper!
Try "less is more." Easier to take in and enjoy, but perhaps more difficult to create.

Seeing Benjamin drop the plant in and immediately wipe his hands on his shirt reminded me so much of my oldest son when he was young. As a toddler he would outstretch his hands for us to clean if he got anything on them. Then of course he did it himself when he got older. He is now 37. 🤦🏼♀️ Can’t believe it! It was fun to see. I find that “full sun” begonias typically means “part sun” here in Florida as well. However, the angel wing type of begonias tolerate sun quite well (although I think they would prefer a bit of shade too).

Maybe it’s cost prohibitive, but have you ever thought about putting a 2-3 ft brick/concrete “sidewalk” on the edges of the cut flower sections, separating the bed from the grass? That way if the plants flop over, it won’t mess up the grass. Plus it’ll tidy up the edges and give it a more deliberate appearance. You could then build something in ground and circular out of brick in the middle that would not take away from the vista to the flower shed.
