- We take you through the magnificent museum that is Mauritshuis. A small but wonderful museum that houses Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt's anatomy Lesson. We see some other beautiful and historic artwork from notable artists.
Mauritshuis is located in The Hague and houses some of the most prominent Dutch artists during the Dutch Golden Age. At the time of this recording, purchasing tickets prior to arrival is required and can be done online. We highly recommend everyone visit this museum when you're in The Hague area. There's a lot to be seen and done here.

I live near Den Haag and visit the museum minmum one a year. The have a great collection. Vermeer's paintings are full of little details, thats show more of how live was in thes days.

Thanks for sharing. Seeing the Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Goldfinch paintings are on my bucket list. If you look closely at the Pearl, you'll see that all Vermeer did was paint the highlights and not an actual pearl. So masterful. I'm thinking about planning a trip to Amsterdam next year for the major Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum which will include the Girl with a Pearl Earring. I'm also considering spending a day in The Hague and going to the Mauritshuis and the Escher museum nearby.

Je forgot to show " het Puttertje" the only work of Fabritius that survived and the painting Donna Tart wrote about in " the goldfinch" ; in dutch " Het Puttertje"
You’re absolutely right! I totally forgot to include it 😞 it was one of my favorite pieces too! The goldfinch was such a beautiful and underrated piece. I apologize

Hey guys, I really loved the videography! I do love the paintings of Vermeer , they are so lively! In the Mauritshuis there is a nice collection by the famous Dutch painters. Curious to see if you did visit other places in the Netherlands :-)
