I've been gigging 5 nights a week or more with this guitar for 4 years , it's a workhorse ! It sounds great in any situation, room or crowd.
It took me awhile to figure out the cooltube settings, but once you've got it, you can make it sound like a 00018 or a 28 with a quarter turn of a knob.
Eats batteries , you'll change them every week , but it's worth it.
This is a beautiful guitar , premium craftsmanship !

I've been playing a Takamine Gn93CE for the past 7 years as my main gigging guitar. I love it it but I decided I wanted to get a top of the line All solid wood Takamine with a cool tube since I do more solo stuff now (not in a full band anymore). I had my feelers out for a used TAN46 or EAN46 because I liked my EAN10ce so much (it just hurts me to play a dreadnought for 3 hours anymore and the NEX body style is perfect for me) but they just weren't coming up. This one came up used for $1000 less than new and it was mint so I pulled the trigger. So far it's great. I play through a Bose SP Pro and wanted simple, plug and play with no pedals but still a great natural sound. The Gn93ce was a great sounding guitar, especially for the price, but this one sounds absolutely stellar with just a little reverb from the Bose. I've been playing out for over 20 years and went through all the gimmicky pedals, including the Fishman Aura and this one straight to the Bose is easily my best sounding setup and it literally takes me 5 minutes to set up. I have yet to play out with it yet, just A/B'ing in my den against the GN93ce. So far I am liking about 50-75% cool tube and everything on the Bose and guitar set flat except for a slight mid-cut at whatever frequency the white dot on the semiparametric midrange slider on the P7NC is.

Dollar for dollar, I have always preferred the high end Takamine guitars over everything else during my years of gigging. And I tried them all. The only acoustic ( or acoustic w/onboard electronics ) guitars that sound better than high end Takamine's will cost you THOUSANDS more. Trust me. The high end Takamine guitars ( I owned 3 of them at one time ) are pricey as well, but well worth the money. Extremely high-end quality in every aspect of the instrument.

In every ad and demonstration I've seen of this guitar series, it is said to have an Asymmetrical neck; yet no one seems to want to actually show what that looks like. Why is that? My understanding of the word "demonstrate" means to prove, reveal, exhibit, validate. Yet, I'm still wondering what an asymmetrical guitar neck looks like from Takamine. Guitar demonstrators would do well to show their audience what it is they speak of, especially if they're actually holding the guitar in their hands. Just an observation.

I gigged for many many years, and that included years of strictly acoustic duo, trio, and solo gigs. I always played high end Takamine acouctic/electric guitars and for me personally, I like the Martin Marquis acoustic strings the best of all. They sound great and seem to last better. ( I hate the over-hyped Elixir strings, they play like rubber bands. ) The Martin Marquis strings are available in phosphor bronze as well, and it's really up to each individual guitar and player's tastes. Some acoustic guitars sound better with the phosphor bronze strings, and some don't. At one point, I owned & gigged with 3 different Takamine's, having each one in a different tuning. One of the three did sound better with the phosphor bronze strings. I know my response is very late....but I hope this helps. The Martin Marquis strings were kind of pricey back when I gigged ( I'm retired now ), but they are well worth the price: Quality strings.

I live in Australia but my online research shows me everything in Australia cost so much more than the other countries. So the guitar cost $3,000 for you over there? Costs $5,000 AUD over here. Doesn't matter if it's Takamine or Seagull, guitar cost double or more when buying from Australia.

    Hey I own a takamine GN93ce-nt and a Lakewood m32 cp...
So obviously the Lakewood has a much brighter sound than the takamine (also about 6 times the price) but for some reason, I enjoy a lot more playing on my takamine, so I was wondering if it was worth either upgrading my takamine (well I'll keep it obviously, both because it's kinda cheap so not worth the time selling it back, and when I gig with some friends of mine, mostly outside, who own acoustic with prices range from 500 to 800 bucks, it seems fair to just take it over the Lakewood)
But I'm considering trading the Lakewood for a pro series 7, so if anyone has played both, it'd be great to hear the feedback

See my other response. I forgot: the jack input DOES allow for a strap. Look closely at the raised metal ridge around the jack input, it doubles as a strap button. Ya have to put the strap on first, then plug in the chord. I thought you were talking about the other end at the neck heal. You will have to install a strap button there, or pay to have one installed.

I mean hell, the factory people are the one who built the guitar in the first place, so I don't understand why people keep saying a guitar needs setup. Almost like the people who try to sound nerdy with computer and talking about how they "over clock" their computer. It's like saying "Hey man, you need to setup your Greenfield guitar...even though master luthier Michael Greenfield hand built the damn thing and tuned it to perfection before he shipped it......yeah.....".
