  • Electric cars still have a relatively low distance range and take forever to charge. What's worse, they are in fashion now, and no one knows what to do with all these inflammable and toxic worn-out lithium batteries that will be thrown out in giant quantities very soon. Meanwhile, electric public transportation has already solved its both battery and charging problems by using supercapacitors in supercapacitor buses or capabuses. But the title of the best electric vehicle is the same as a hundred of years: it is a trolleybus, which charges in zero seconds and with one that charge it will be able to go an infinite amount of kilometers!

Hooray for the trolleybus! Thanks for outlining their virtues. Alas, the trolley buses in Australia disappeared some years ago but at least the trams in Melbourne survived - we have a large tram network and they are making acomeback in other cities too.

I also hate my wireless mouse because it consumes a lot of battery and it will become very rough to move the pointer when the battery is in half, so I came back in using wired mouse the same with the wired headphone because of the high quality audio, I replace all my wireless devices by wired again except TV remote. I do believe that anything that can be wired it should be wired unless when it is very crucially needed to become wireless. The performance, quality and efficiency of the wired technologies shouldn't be underestimated.

No. Trolleybuses are more expensive on less frequent routes.

@@sillysad3198 I have. Show me a route where trolleybuses are cheaper than battery electric buses if there is one bus per hour.
Supercapacitors are kinda subtype of battery in this case (At least it is hard to say what LTO chemistry is in this case).

@@petrhajduk9955 If our only point of transportation is "expensiveness or how much it costs" and not "reliability, efficiency, resourcefulness, electricity consumption, environment", then yeah, electric buses win this competition easily.
Lithium is approximated to run out by 2027, and with given recourses every bus, that runs now, will not be electrified. Not to mention that we will need to replace cars with other form of transportation that will increase numbers of buses needed...
Lithium is really bad for environment, not only because of batches, but because we use the same method as for fracking.
Electric bus efficiency is ~29%, compared to trolleybus ~41% (main reason for this difference is in battery charging and discharging as it reduces available electricity)
Cold weather reduces or even stops lithium batteries from having full electric potential. (you can see this with your phone as it dies quicker in colder weathers.)
The best solution is to electrify trains and buses with overhead wires, it's expensive, but it's the best solution.

@@petrhajduk9955 if there’s trolleybus line which runs alongside most of the route and it is already used by other routes battery trolleybus will be effective on a low frequency service in this case. But yes: if there’s one bus per hour and no trolleybus line alongside it battery buses will be more efficient.
