A lot of construction works they did and completed nicely ones like covered walkway under mrt tracks, shelters pavements, newly installed street lamps around hdb estates, roadworks etc, within less than 18 or 36 months or so they will knock it down and redo it. For buildings if that particular building is not making any money or the height of the building doesn't maximise the plot ratio in that land parcel, that building can say bye bye. All lowly built warehouses in Sungei kadut, j cube, bedok mall, newly renovated community centres etc all kenna hacked off. Is a total waste of tax payers money. In Singapore, construction works has no end game, unlike Taiwan, australia Malaysia etc, once a building is built they treasure them. Old Trees and young trees in Singapore also not spared. I really pity those very old trees, their lives are similar to ducks pigs chicken cows goats and seabass, once they reached a certain age, it will be slaughtered (axed). If you are an observant pedestrians grab driver or taxi uncle you will know what I mean.
If we merge, you guys can come to Great Kuala Lumpur cuz here bigger land area, Singapura can maintain as financial hub. I wish your government will be in power when we merge.
