- AFL Legend Ron Barassi has died, aged 87.
Barassi’s family confirmed his passing on Saturday in a statement.
“After a full and extraordinary life, Ronald Dale Barassi, aged 87, left us today due to complications from a fall,” the family said.
“He died peacefully, surrounded by loving family. We ask for privacy at this time.”
Barassi is one of the most influential figures in the game's history.
He was a six-time premiership player for Melbourne and a four-time premiership coach.
Met Ron in my Taxi . Picked him up from the city . Shook his hand at the end of the trip and thanked him for all the memories from Footy . RIP

And a show called 'Almost anything goes' in 1976, a physical endurance activity show and funny, I was five at the time, my house used to love watching it. The contestants weren't atheletes, just adults. RIP Ron.
