I really hope this pilot wasn't trying to land into on coming traffic.
What other choice did he have? crash into a building?
This used to be rare until a few years ago when the news called a pilot a hero and made him famous for landing on a highway. I said back then that making him viral would make pilots more likely to repeat it. So here we are. It was just a matter of time. Landing on a highway used to be the last option, now it's become the first option and made a few pilots go viral.
Don't be ridiculous. A pilot would look for the safest place and if it's highway then that's what they will.do. You have zero data to suggest it's first option now.
