      Yeah but you have to understand they weren't properly trained, so didn't realise that stripping someone in a public place was wrong. To know that would require at least two functioning brain cells and that's something (a lot) of cops don't seem to possess.

    It’s disgusting that officers can basically commit a sexual offense on the side of the road in public while everyone driving by is watching and nothing is done to them no charges for sexual assault. They should’ve been stripped of their credentials to be law-enforcement officers and they should be in prison. Why does it take years for someone to get a smidgen of justice?

      Yes, I don't think people fully understand what we've all condoned for decades.
      Basically given them all that power with little training and said "Ok who ever puts this uniform on is always good and everyone else is bad until the courts say so (results not guaranteed based on income)."
      We don't even give doctors that much power over our bodies.

    If they were never trained on when or how to conduct a strip search, why did they conduct a strip search. What were they thinking?
    What else are they out there doing that they were never trained on???
    The answer is they're doing a lot that either they weren't trained on or that they were trained to break the rules...

      The only reason this is getting talked about is probably because the victim filed a complaint and there was body cam footage. Chances are they've done this many times before but other people were too afraid or there wasn't any body cam footage of the assault.

    Law enforcement as a whole needs to be Restructured. Higher education requirements (A 2.0 GPA, D+, and 16 weeks of training is all you need to be a police officer), Medical evaluation for Health and Steroid usage (steroids are known to increase irritability, anxiety and aggression and cause mood swings, with symptoms of paranoia and lack of emotion), psychological evaluations annually, term limited Civilian Oversight board

    If they had not been trained. they should not have done it. Here in the UK the parameters of searches in public are defined. If a deeper search is required then it is done in a police station

While that in itself is horrifying to think, also doubtful but if you're a cop and you know this is something you're going to need to do at some point wouldn't you educate yourself? I mean you know how to put cuffs on someone why wouldn't you want to know the correct and legal way to do something especially when it comes to removing someone's clothing? Or is it better for them to not know so they can claim ignorance if it ever comes back on them?

    This says to other cops that they can pretty much get away with anything. Especially when they investigate themselves. 3 months training is not enough. A beautician has to go to school for over a year and that's just for hair!

    The gentleman that they had explaining police conduct was one of the rare times that the expert actually told the truth. I think he was fair and critical of the police and he spoke in a very common sense manner.

    I'm sure a written reprimand is going to break the heart of those officers and be a deterrent for future misdeeds. Also their promotions will come next week with a nice pay raise. Saying they were never trained is just plausible deniability for officers. As a citizen try telling that to a judge and you will get a lecture about citizens should know the law and you'll get a guilty sentence.

    The absolute confidence displayed while violating that man's rights out in public and then to act like wow I was never trained how to to conduct myself.     So, a written reprimand was the result of two years of investigating this incident. The games will always continue with law enforcement (in this case, dragging their feet and delaying the process). If I were a betting man, I would wager these deputies cannot remember the incident they're being disciplined over. JSO is, at best, a joke. I hope this victim will file a lawsuit against the sheriff and these deputies.
