"Unfortunately can't have more than one beer cos I'm driving"
5 minutes earlier: Drinks two beers. 😂
🤣 i did edit this whole video after so was afew hours before i hit the road 🤣
Nothing sadder than a boarded up pub. A metaphor for what the UK has turned into .
Hate the sight!

The pubs have closed down because there are no jobs on the island. Once Anglesey Aluminium and the Chicken Factory and the Power station closed down so many people lost their jobs and they just can't afford to go out anymore. I used to work in the chicken factory with the guy you had on camera and he's a top bloke Stu. He has a half welsh accent and half scouse lol. All the rich people live a few minutes away in a place called Treaddur Bay. It's full of second homes and holiday lets and has a nice beach and places to go out for a meal. The only jobs available now are in the supermarkets and I think there's 5 large ones in Holyhead and there are plenty of other shops around them just none in the town. As for the Guinness it doesn't travel very well so the closer you are to Ireland the better the pint and at a reasonable price. I blame you for getting me started on the Guinness and I have plenty of it in the fridge lol. If you go to Ireland there are 2 types of stout with Guinness being more in the north and Murphys in the south and it's a good pint. Also do you remember Harp lager as it was made by Guinness and has the same Harp on the glass and cans. Anyway I've watched a few of your videos today and I've just subscribed and hit the like button. Keep up the good work buddy loving your videos and great personality, right I'm getting a Guinness now lol. Also if you are driving around Anglesey watch your speed as they have bloody speed cameras everywhere.
Good read that pal. I actually prefer Murpheys over Guinness but so hard to get over here! The travel well thing is 100% true. Cheers pal, appreciate it 👍
Murphy's was quite big over here but you struggle to get it now. Remember the add sisters of Murphy's? Lol. Also I had a draft pint of Beamish black once and that was nice
Wow. Epic comment on the situation. Thanks and all best for your community
Holyhead is my hometown. Its has some beautiful areas, penrhos, rocky coast and the mountain. Its a safe place to bring children up. I love it here. Walk 10mins in any direction and youre basically at a beach. Has a good community spirit. Yes the town is run down. Lots of rundown areas but if you stop focusing on the negatives there are plenty of positives 🏴
Yeh i a place of beauty in the surrounding areas!
What a shit-hole. The Germans missed this place during the War. Everyone on benefits
I click on the thumbs up before I even watch these videos, always guaranteed to be a great watch.

Appreciate that pal. Nice one 👍🍺
your screen name is the explanation why these seaside and country towns are planned to fail.
@@FinkyStingers-fr2jq Good to see someone else who knows the score
This is our favourite channel, although why do me and my wife always say now “shall we have a walk to x and see what’s kicking off” 😂❤
Ahahah i'll take that 🤣.....because you're into top tier sayings!
Pokey little boozers always have the best Guinness 👌🏻
You know it 👍🍺
That's true
Very true. Went to a bar in the centre of Liverpool and it was really weak!
He went on a 'stuff like that' frenzy near the end
🤣
Yes! Finally! Appreciate you made the trip down here!
Was only a short one 👍
Is what it is
🤣🤣
Let's go see what's kicking off then...
Sure is
🙂
There’s a big Morrisons 5 minutes drive away….and the beautiful Treaddur bay….i thought Holyhead was lovely..
There is a big Lidl in town…..and down at the marina was beautiful…this vid did focus on empty shops a bit..it’s a quiet and sleepy town…really worth a visit..there are some lovely houses there..
It used to be a thing in Ireland in the 80s and early 90s to get the ferry to Holyhead for the day. I went there loads as a kid and all the mums would be so excited because there was no Boots or Argos in Ireland at the time. People would be coming back drunk into Dun Laoghaire in the evening with bags full of cosmetics.
Tiz what iz...banging..love your channel mate😊
Cheers pal. Appreciate it 👍🍺
First Guinness glass from 2009. A collectors item.
Imagine what Holyhead was like on a beautiful summer's day before all those pubs and shops closed... nice place I would say
Probs nice. There are great walks about!
Great video and the beards looks cool!
🤣cheers pal. Appteciate it
wow, look stunning

very nice content as always
Cheers pal
Tbh loving your vids more and more just wish they where longer. Keep up the good wok
Cheers pal. Appreciate it 👍
Another good video 👍It is what it is 👍Bangin🤗
Cheers pal, appreciate it 👍
Should try Penrith. I sometimes get the train there from Glasgow for a day, couple of decent boozers doing good G.
Yeh i need to pal
Hollyhead is only good for one thing. Getting the ferry to Ireland and getting the fuck out of there ha
Maybe 🤣
And good walks
There are other pubs there that are still open, as with any other towns there are lovely places to live, some nice houses further up and nice housing estates, and also your usual out of town shopping with a large Morrisons and Tesco, so no need to go to Bangor. Lots of money currently being spent on Holyhead with the levelling up fund.
Thanks for your videos. A real eye opener some of those places you go to. Will you be going over to Ireland. I know you love your Guinness. Keep the good work up.😊
Cheers pal. Appreciate it 👍
I use to go there loads on the bus just to fill in time when I use to work late afternoons etc.........Holyhead is like a lot of places.shops have gone to the "outside" of the town.........I "Like" the place......has "Great" travel links bus/ferrie/rail................Good Luck Holyhead keep your pecker up etc...................
Good read that pal 👍
Holyhead isn't that bad. Only focussing on the negative. Go 2 minutes down the road and you have treadurr bay. The weat side had South stack lighthouse some nicd beach coves. They also have a large Tesco so no need for bangor. And most towns here has Greggs
Looking forward to Ireland video!
Me too 🤣
Good vid mate❤
Cheers pal 👍
Keep up the good work lad !! 30 quid return sounds like a bargain ! Looking forward to Ireland pal !! 🍀
amazing content bro stunning vids keep up the good channele you deserve it pal you are doing an amazing job all the best pal👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Cheers pal, really appreciate it 👍
Kickin off there
🤣🤣
So sad to see a little port town all run down like that. What a pity... On the other hand, that Holland Inn was a pretty pub. Loved the garden area! I can see myself spending hours (and pounds) out there.
Proper joint! Bangin sun trap and Guinness!
I visited Hollyhead in the mid 2000s, and I couldn’t believe it. I came across Christine Keeler from the Perfumo affair she had moved there and it was purely by chance. She was a much older lady at the time a bit more poorly but you could still see it with her and I recognised her instantly.
I think by that time CK would be difficult to recognise as her looks would have been long gone. You did well to recognise her and thanks for sharing the story.
That Guinness did look really good, got me all thirsty like 🍺
Great pubs
Good video this - would love to see you visit my home town of Swindon. The town centre and the Eastcott Area are probably the most rundown bits. A few iffy estates too, Pinehurst, Penhill, Toothill etc.
Cheers pal, long list but it is on there 👍
Only ever been there to catch the ferry.
Come to Wrexham. There are a few good Pubs here 👍.
Yeh i need to pal
that Guinness lookin like atleast a 9, boss
Unreal mate, made the day less depressing 🤣
It’s a shame it’s run down . Great video
Nice location of Wales too....yeh it is a shame
These places can be grim sometimes but you always meet some of the nicest people there , incidentally i once took my wife to Wales to Bangor !
People 9 times out of 10 are sound, always proud of their home town
There's a song there " didn't we have a luvverly time the day we went to Bangor "
@@pooooornopigeon What a filthy mind you must have 😉
@@pooooornopigeon Got that song in my head now lol
Yep Always twisted to Bang Her..Might take my wife to Wales to bang her 😂😂😂
Mate your best videos are the ones your on a pub crawl with one of your mates and you’re just getting absolutely pissed in rough pubs 😂🙏🏻
That Guinness looked almost frozen, bangin cant wait for Ireland!
Was just right!!!
@honestplaces There's a few dodgy estates and parts of Rep. Ireland, that are run down, but you're more likely to find rural ghost towns. For the most part we haven't got the post-Industrial slump like parts of the UK, mainly cause we didn't have much heavy industry!
The only town local to me, that reminds of the depressing shuttered shop/dereliction vibe is Roscrea Co.Tipperary. Would be worth visiting. Some good people, but it's a small town with big drug issues.
@@johnnyn6022 Interesting!
@@NickpaintbrushMaybe I'm looking at it through green-tinted googles, but we might have the odd run down town or parts of the country where the majority of younger people have left for city work or abroad. But even the 'rougher towns' aren't riddled with mini casinos/slots and despite chain shops on industrial parks, small businesses tend to still have support from the community.
But the wealth distribution seems a bit more even here, there's not really a place, where it's small town after town of council house depression and despair, the 'social class' does exist, but there isn't black holes like the Welsh Valley's where entire communities have been utterly neglected.
I could be proven entirely wrong, but I've travelled around the country a fair bit and only Roscrea really depresses me....and maybe Longford town, but that's in a different province
Will have to give it a try there, heading to wales during the week in the old camper for a month or two 👍👍 sad to see so many pubs closing all over the country
Bangin Guinness mate. Nice area for walks and that too, not much for shopping etc
@@honestplaces will leave another comment here when I try it 👍👍 thanks
Not to shabby
👍🍺
What day and time did you film this on ?, looks like a sunday
Saturday pal
Waz wot it waz!!! Love the Bangin remarks!!! Waz it Bangin like the headboards in a dodgy motel?? Or maybe Bangin like the heavy thud of Bass Drum coming outah huge Bass bins of speaker system at a Rock Concert???
both! just bangin good in every way!!!!
Lad was eager to give a shoutout 😂
Knows it makes sense!
I cant believe how run down it is with all those boarded up shops and pubs. Im guessing with the pubs its like any other small town that once had a lot, it only takes a downturn in the local economy for people to stay in if they cant afford to go out drinking, so the pubs gradually close one by one. I lived in a small town up north, only about 8000 living there, it had tons of pubs when I moved there but after ten years half of them had gone.
Yeh small towns suffer, people staying in as everyone is skint etc, same in alot of places
Doesn't surprise me you get a good Guinness, very close to Dublin after all (on the ferry)
That is very true
another top video bro
Cheers pal, was only short as i was ill as hell 🤣
@honestplaces yhea I seen 😳 u saying can't be bothered lol think I've had to much stell this weekend 😅 lol
The supermarkets are thriving here…thats where the town shops and pubs went..
Looks a nice pub
Half decent!
Anglesey has some fascinating places to visit. Llangefni in the centre has several supermarkets, no need to go to Bangor for groceries.
Llangefni is only good for food shops now, feel it has no personality. Love Anglesey though, mint places to walk around 👍
@@honestplaces My folks lived in Llangefni. What a shite tip!
I visited Holyhead about 20 years ago on route to Dun Laoire. Shame to see it has become rundown.
Wasn't the best back in the day either
Do you like lager 🍺. Good videos as always . Need to revisit Luton though , wasn’t long enough haha
Yeh i do mate, i know pal....will do at some point
It might be run down but I never noticed any litter that Guinness looked banging
No litter atall! Yeh top tier guinness!

👍🍺
Holyhead my hometown
Great scenery

Love the content mate should come to Dundee I'd be down to show you all the absolute sh*t holes we have here especially scheme pubs
Huge list to get through pal but it is on the list 👍
When will you be going the Wirral
Or even Chorley fair few pubs close to each other there in the town centre
Great channel as always
Wirral needs doing 100%. Dunno when though pal
That guiness looked like nectar no wonder you enjoyed it I have been holyhead in the 90s on the way to dublin I would love that boozer great stuff pity about the run down parts unfortunately it's so common nowadays
Bangin mate. Yeh same with alot of towns nowa days init
@@honestplaces yeah real pity
Love your channel brother and honest opinions.. So sad that the pub trade is dying.. Give it 10 years, 90% will be shut...
It's all planned! Do people not see that.
I rarely go in a boozer today, because of the expense, not just that, but what I called going down the boozer was a good night out with people..
Now 98% are constantly on their mobiles, or people caused violence...
Trust me! 🇬🇧 is in proper trouble..
Props to you fella, for showing this. .
Although can't beat a good Guinness..
Best place for that is definitely Ireland..
Subscribed.. ✌🏼
Cheers pal. Does seem that way at the moment, very expensive to have afee now 👍
If that Guinness is as good as it looks you found a little gem there boss 💪🍻
Yeh mate, if i was ever near there i'd go just for that! 🤣🍺
Should try Stranraer is very run down
Yeh afew people have said that 👍
Hi mate shame the pubs are gone .... Guinness looks spot on though
Guinness unreal pal!!!
Straight off the port and oussh 🍻
100% 🍺🍺
People need a reason to visit places and get out and about, no one seems responsible for making that happen anymore. Being an isolated or remote town shouldn't be a barrier, people crave the seaside, fresh air and small winding streets but need a pull to choose this place over other similar towns.
People get lazy init. Too easy to chuck on a film, get a takeaway etc!
Story of the UK. So many places up and down the country now look like this. Good, honest people as always though. ❤
Always the small towns init. Bangin area with good walks around there!
That Guinnes did look good.
Was unreal mate 👍
I am just here to find out if it is what it is.
It always is what it is
On the road too 50k subs mate keep up the great work 👍👍

Come to Hyde in tameside only 15 mins away from Stockport dingy area full of dingy pubs and closed shops
Is Bike and Hound still as dingy ?
@@davelevey9074 yeah mate proper

My curiosity got the bottom of me. After an internet search of the Clifton House premises for sale with the 2 star food hygiene rating - it was previously a fish monger that also sold duck eggs. It just goes to show that even if you diversify in todays cut-throat retail market, success is not guaranteed.
Jeeez. Thanks for the google research on that and the info pal 👍
Whats the difffernce between a good pint of guinness and a bad pint ?
Bubble head, cream sticking to glass....all good pointers of a decent Guinness
At least you went on a sunny day. With all that pebbledash, it looks ten times more grim on a grey rainy day.
Yeh i hate that pebble dash look 🤣
nice place. I would visit. fishing and enjoying some good fish ans chips at night.
You know it 👍
Try Nigerian Guinness - they sell in bottled in Sainsburys and Home Bargains. 7.5% of pure joy.
Make sure you get down to cork lad!
Been before mate, bangin
That first pub is basically the same as my local except mines in the middle of a valley town with a thatched roof.
Sounds bangin!
@@honestplaces ropey! One of the few pubs not to have bouncers over the weekend. Regulars look out for the place.

As a Paddy I look forward to seeing you in Dublin :) Hopefully it lives up to your expectations, Im from the south, down in Wexford so i havent much say on whats good or not up there but best stay out of temple bar as its an overpriced tourist trap if you havent already heard. Safe travels
