I completed my review of the V10 version of this light. Much more performance but a little bit biggger. czcams.com/video/NuPA9wWKm4M/video.html
You deserve more visualizations and thumbs up. Well done!
Oh thank you! You can help, share my vids and spread the word.
Great review! Your honesty is appreciated. Subbed.

Thank you so much for taking the time and going to the effort of producing this review. Only reviews like this provide enough information to make informed decisions. Amazon reviews are all but useless in comparison. Thanks again.

@@MoondogReviews Done. Can you tell me if this light can work while charging?
Well done review. Thanks for your hard work man. Smashing the like.
Much appreciated! And smash that subscribe button too.
Omg when I was a kid I got 5 lm with 6 d batteries. Pretty rad little piece of kit!
Haha, me too. all I had was an yellow plastic Eveready and rich kids had dads with a D-size Maglite and their super bright 100 lumen krypton bulbs.
I love your honesty and this highly informative video.🙏🏻👍🏻✊🏻🕯
I appreciate that! Hope you subscribe.
I have ordered one of these lights for a different reason…it has a magnet on it. I needed a small light to walk from my new carport down a short sidewalk to the back door of my house. My carport is steel, so when I drive in this light will be attached to one of the steel posts of the carport. It is also important that it is relatively waterproof. Using this light it is about a 30 second walk to my back porch door, where an automatic led strip light will take over. The door is steel so I can stick it on the door for future use. Very handy and I wanted something I could readily recharge, so it is ideal for my use! Price was less than $15 with free shipping.
Would a set of magnetic motion sensor lights work better? I use these in my garage and use rechargeable AA batteries. amzn.to/3itpEj5
Great review thank you!

Cracking light for the money you can't beat it....GREAT review
Quite true. Can't complain at this price. Hope you subscribed.
Just picked this up and immediately made it my second main light. Tested in a dark urban area at 3AM and boy, this light is awesome.
I'll be testing the V10 soon. Just ordered one. Hope you subscribe.
Nice review. Got a few and like them just wish it had a lockout.
Have you experienced accidental activation problems?
Thanks for the review, I think the measurements are done with direct light, the reflection on the material you used makes the difference.
Lumen measurements are usually done with reflection because it measures using an area. Candela is measured with direct light. www.ledwatcher.com/light-measurements-explained/
@@MoondogReviews Thanks for the details
My main concern with these cheap flashlights is not so much inflated lumens, but actually inflated running times.
With these micro EDC, runtime is limited. Tough on moonlight mode, you can sometimes get over an hour.
Last few weeks I ran a marathon distance in 6 hours, during heavy downpour start (2am) to finish. I held it in my hand or mount it on my hat (diy it). It got wet and felt on asphalt many times. I mostly use it on mode 3 during the run It still works and I haven't charge it. What an awesome lil devise.
Nice work! I wish they offered a way to attach a clip so you could mount this on a cap brim. How ddi you compared to your personal best? Hope you subscirbed.
What a great and profesional video👍👍👍
Thanks! I hope you subscribed.
You said the same limit test setup was used for other lights. Were you able to confirm other manufacturer lumen specs with setup, or have all measurements been significantly lower than claimed?
This AA light output a bit more than its stated 650 lumens. czcams.com/video/FfTViJ7YR6I/video.html
Subscribe to the channel and stay updated when I post my next test.
hi moondog that was some really practical testing exactly what i wanted to see ( real world tests), btw have you tested the new V10 and v15?
The new V10 is sitting on my shelf right now awaiting testing as soon as I have s a spare couple of days. Stay tuned.
I completed my review of the V10 version of this light. Much more performance but a little bit biggger. czcams.com/video/NuPA9wWKm4M/video.html
Any chance of reviewing the Wurrkos TS10?
I got it for US$17.5 and CZcamsrs have found it exceeds the stated 1400 lumens.
I'll reach out to them.
Have you tested the lumens with the flashlight in its fullcharge? Another question is the color of the ice box, does the color of ice box affect the reflected light?
All of my light review videos have the flashlight fully recharged overnight before testing. Color does effect light measurements. I use new foam coolers that haven't been used for storing food. An integrating sphere is the official way to measure lumens. My ice box is a hack job but my calibrating 100 lumen reference light was also measured in the same box so the numbers are apples-to-apples. digitalbikeparts.com/en/measuring_the_lumens_with_an_integrating_sphere/#:~:text=Integrating%20sphere%20is%20used%20to,This%20is%20the%20integrating%20sphere.
@@MoondogReviews Thanks for the informative response and video!
would love to see review for the upgraded version v10!
I will be buying one soon to test
I found a similar flashlight in an online shop but with the Uzboo brand and the same model as the Borouit v3, and the question is is this the same as the Borouit that you reviewed? The model is exactly the same but different brands
It's probably the same. I don't know if Borouit makes them or brands them?
There's now a Boirut V10. Any chance of a review?
I would love to as soon as they contact me and send me one to test. I only see the V10 available on AliExpress?
Do you have some runtime test ? Maybe battery be fail tests too.
Now I can't find the damn flashlight in my office. Maybe too damn small it evaporated?
Hey my dude! Fantastic review and break down. I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago and have loved it. Have you seen any way to check battery life? I havent been able to find one
I couldn't either. I don't think it can?
You ran the light for a long time before testing. That 100% is the wrong way to test a small light. Likely it is very close to the rated amount!
I tested the Boruit V1 under the same testing procedure and it's an even smaller light, and it outperformed. So take that for what you will. czcams.com/video/_gXUjtZN7PM/video.html
I didn't have the equipment, but I tested it with my Thrunite T1 with High level of 650 lumens. It's pretty close too.
1 minute is a long time? Even after 30 seconds the power drop off is considerable.
New to the channel and was wondering with the lumen test, are you not supposed to shine the light direct at the sensor? Either way, you earned a sub and it seems like an amazing light for the price, I'll be picking one up!
No, lumens are measured using light cast on a wall or surface. www.standardpro.com/how-to-measure-light/#:~:text=Using%20the%20metric%20system%2C%20a,represent%20dimmer%2C%20more%20subdued%20lighting.
Direct measurements on a sensor measure Candles/Candela.
@@MoondogReviews okay awesome, thanks for the clarification! I had no idea that's how they are measured!

@@MoondogReviews ya know fair enough, it was earned haha
Nice review. The lumen test results were disappointing, but I think for the price it's still a great flashlight.
It's still plenty bright but I wish they were more honest about how bright. Hope you subscribed.
It is not worth the money. They are selling this for around $15. For a few dollars more you can get a Wurkkos TS10 which uses a 14500 and outputs 1400 lumens of 90CRI light with Anduril 2.0
@Sodium Syndicate The TS10 it's not what most consider a "keychain light". The TS10 is almost as big as a pepper spray bottle, Granted some women put pepper on a keychain but it's a bit of an outlier. You are absolutely right that the TS10 is a much brighter and cost effective from an output standpoint.
@@MoondogReviews Sure this is smaller than a TS10, but given that the output does not even match the claim, plus am not sure the run times are great either given that it is likely the battery is poor quality.
If Wurkkos made this light & sold it for $15, it would work. If Rovyvon or Nitecore made this light, it would be $50+
Should the light meter be directly pointed towards the light beam? Reflected light is not provide the accurate results
Lumens are measured using captured reflected light in a light rectifier.
czcams.com/video/a0q_U_0l1J4/video.html
Is there anyway to see how much battery life is left?
Not on mine.
Nice
Thanks. Hope you subscribe.
I came up to the same conclusion about the lighting output, but you had a much better method than I. All i could do is compare to other lights I have. If you hold down the switch for turbo mode, does those metal rings get too hot to the touch for you as well?
I never held down turbo for that long but that doesn't surprise me. All that extra power output going to the LED translates to more heat which has to get channeled somewhere. With metal bodies EDC, the tube acts as the heat sink. With this plastic bodied light, you've discovered it's the metal bits.
@@MoondogReviews Sir, you are doing the wrong calculation, the luxmeter itself is indicating that it is at 89 x 100 lux= 890 lumens... You method are so wrong.
@@jo3lo13 to be clear you are saying 89 x 100 = 890? If so please try again
The water test put in the pool
When I install a pool in my tiny 15ft x 25ft backyard, I'll do that.
I would love to see these compared to the Rovyvon aurora
I wasn't aware of Ronyvon. I'll look into that brand.
The rovyvon A1 went sort of viral in the edc world a few years ago, and for good reason, size of a AA BATTERY, outperforms every other flashlight I own easily.
I'll have to pick one up during the next Amazon Prime day coming up
What's the name of your white EDC light?
It's a Lumentop Tool czcams.com/video/yN_LOdBUI9k/video.html
Can confirm that it is not 900 lumens. Compared it against my nitecore tini 2 rated at 500 lumens no noticable difference at turbo
Still a great keychain got it for $12
Thanks for confirming that output for me. Happy Christmas. Hope you subscribed.
Why don't you put some numbers of runtime of each mode?
I didn't do a runtime test. But I plan to review the V10 soon and I'll do a runtime test on that one. Subscribe and hit the Bell button to be notified when I post that.
Tenks men
You're welcome
I have just tested this - Quick release achieves 900 lumens - engaged (at highest) around half.
Interesting. Their V1 was closer to the mark so I was surprised the V3 performed so poorly in my tests. How did you set up your test rig?
450 lumens for a keychain flashlight is great...Manufacturer should just tell the truth. Great video
The truth will set you free. Hope you subscribe.
You are best
Thanks! Hope you subscribed.
What is the difference to the V10 model ?
I haven't tested the V10 but that model has audible alarm buzzer and supposedly 1000 lumens.
What is your normal edc flashlight?
When I'm not testing lights, a Lumintop: czcams.com/video/FfTViJ7YR6I/video.html
Sir, you are doing the wrong calculation, the luxmeter itself is indicating that it is at 89 x 100 lux= 890 lumens... You method are so wrong.
Lux to Lumens isn't always a 1:1 ratio. Lux is dependent on the volume of area illuminated ( per meter squared). suprabeam.com/technology/lumen-to-lux/
In another video I calibrated my icebox to a 100 lumen light and determined that I needed to apply a .25 factor (40%) to any Lux number. czcams.com/video/NETNURMAWpo/video.html
@@MoondogReviews Oddly I use the setup recommended on the BLF forum and found mine to reach 721Lm on high and infact all my test was within 10% of the manufactures claims.. This has been the same for any flashlight I have ran my own tests for from My Emisars to Olights and god knows how many flashlight and headlamps I have ran tests for (well over 700 now) I do agree with the outdoor beam shots. But thats down to the reflectors... All in all I love the V3 as an emergency or campsite flashlight. And in someways it is better than even the bigger brands.
@@hudsonbear5038 Did you test the lumens, candela & run time of all the modes?, the manufacturer does not specify the candela rating & we know this light will heat up & should throttle down on turbo, high & even medium.
Please could you review the v10 and compare it with the v3, thank you.
I'll see about getting one.
I completed my review of the V10 version of this light. Much more performance but a little bit biggger. czcams.com/video/NuPA9wWKm4M/video.html

I hope you can read this in English. Yes, for the price, I would recommend this light or the cheaper V1 which I also reviewed. czcams.com/video/_gXUjtZN7PM/video.html
Muito obrigado estou com a minha em mãos. Gostei muito! Parabéns pelo conteúdo! Parabéns!
Turbo mode does not stay on ?
Not for me. I gotta keep the button pressed for it to beam in Turbo. This could be a safety feature to prevent melting/burn through.

Thanks. Hope you subcribed.
At full charge, how long can tge battery last on low, medium and high mode?
6hrs on low, 3hrs on med, 2hrs on high. There is an economy mode that claims 78hrs. I didn't have the patience to test that.
i ordered this light off amazon and got a cheap knockoff that doesnt have settings memory. little angry but on the upside the knockoff came with a pocket clip. i guess it will have to do. but i wish i wouldnt have gotten a knock off false advertized flashlight
Did the link from my review page go to a knock off? moondogindustries.com/v3-micro-edc-light
I'm carrying and using one of these everyday. Light output is more than sufficient, in fact I use "economy" most of the time. That's enough light to see with, high lumen output is just for bragging.
Do you use this as a backup or a primary EDC? Hope you subscribed.
@@MoondogReviews Primary. I actually wouldn't trust this not to self discharge if I didn't use it every day. I work an evening shift and have a goat to milk after work. The Boruit gets used to get to the shed and has (in white side mode) replaced the shed light when it packed up. Magnet sticks nicely to the inside of a corrigated iron roof. I like that this is cheap enough to risk losing, which I think is important when it's in your pocket everyday. In fact I have 2, so you could say my backup is another Boruit V3. Backup is actually a Maglite, D cells don't self discharge.
@@highloughsdrifter1629 Good point. I never tested it for self discharge. I like the magnet but mine actually came off. I had to super glue it back on.

I didn't know who Halis was. Had to google. Thank you for the compliment, I guess?
@@MoondogReviews Ömer Halis Demir is a Turkish hero. I compared you to him. I wasn't trying to say anything hurtful. Ömer is a hero in the hearts of all Turkey. He put the commanders who wanted to stage a military coup in their place in 2015. but unfortunately he was martyred. Also thank you for the review video.
No offense taken. Thanks for letting us know. Hope you subscribed.
Yeah your lumen test sucks sorry its true your machine alone already is black and it will absorb a lot of light... This is tested in a professional lumen tester and outputed 590 lumen in high...
I can say that my other tests with other flashlights were pretty in-line to the manufacturer stated numbers. Maybe I got a lemon? Can you share a link to the professional lumen test video?
Idk the one I got looks like good 800 to 900 lumens but maybe I can't tell.
Well its bright for sure but most people can't tell the difference between 900 lumens and 600 lumens or 400 lumens. Our pupil automatically closes to reduce bright lights so as not to damage our eyes.
