🔥🔥Thanks for watching! To learn about the plugins I use to make my videos, WATCH THIS: czcams.com/video/vaNerNl12SU/video.html
I always forget that you can tag people by their faces. That is super helpful.
Learn something new with you every time!
Awesome!
editing videos since I was 16. As you can imagine I have developed a very juvinile workflow from the get go. Having to re-learn every step of my video making is really slow, but at the same time re-invigorating.
Well I hope this video helped! Thanks so much for Watching !
Ok, Another lesson learned. I’ll reorg my folders as I have about a dozen videos to edit (yes, I’m behind). Thanks for the help as always!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
I think you did a decent job explaining a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. Good Job. I think near the start if I was making the structure I would set up scene 1 - then duplicate it and change the name if the folder to scene 2 and again for each before populating the media. But maybe I didn't catch the set up of the media in there correctly. Good to an old fashioned edit video from Jay - cheers
Thanks so much Jim!
How would do the label for scenes if you’re working a basketball documentary?
This is really valuable for my future project of a drummer sizzle reel. My current one that I'm using to learn on though...it's a game playthrough which is one 8 hour clip & a 3 hour clip. I just found out about multiple timelines because I'll have to insert an intro at the beginning, but for now, I have 1 timeline with 2300 clips 🤣. I'd love an update to your DaVinci 16 timelines video.
6:35 🎉
Thanks Jay. What about for media that you use in many projects e.g. certain memes or clips or graphics or titles that get used in CZcams videos. I assume don't duplicate these for every project but have some folders elsewhere for those assets?
Yup! Any images or videos that I use in multiple videos I place in a folder on my hard drive. Then I place those files in a power bin in Resolve so they’re available to me in every project.
@@JayLippman Thanks mate :)
Thank goodness Jay, you couldn't have times this better, I have been looking on the Black Magic forums and it seemed so complicated, but easier now, my first feature, I will be doing everything during filming, except sound and producing, all post work including vfx with Blender and unreal all in Resolve, maybe some in Fusion Studio. How do you make sure when copying the media from the scene timelines ( I will have nearly 50 scenes) that all media stays in sync from it's original timeline to the main timeline.
Depends on what you mean by “in sync.” Are you talking about avoiding a clip getting the “Media Offline” error? If so, you don’t need to worry about it. As long as you’re working within the same project and you don’t move your media files to a different folder, everything should be fine.
@@JayLippman thanks for the reply Jay, do you lock all the tracks in the original timeline, copy and paste into the new timeline. Just so audio or vfx all line up as the original positions of the media, I don't want the audio a frame or two in front or behind of the video, so I don't have to pull it back into time. Also, as you have different actors in the scene, I have 19 characters, but most scenes have 3 people, 4 at most.
So how do you make sure that when you bring each timelines tracks in you dont put say Lucys audio which is on track 1 in scene 2 to the Detectives audio track 1 which is in scene 1.
Wait till you have to do a tutorial on DCP for theatre release and 5.1 surround sound as well. 😁
