Glad I could inspire more reviewers to carry on Tyll's legacy. Crin and Resolve and I all share that general approach, so we definitely have him to thank
I don't know if you will see this comment, but I bought KSC75s and modded them with yaxi pads and the parts express headband thanks to your recommendation, and I gotta say they have easily been the best headphones I have ever owned despite owning headphones that cost 8x as much. Your audio reviews have been very useful since your audio opinions seem to line up closely to mine. Thanks!
It was fun getting to know your background a little more buddy!
Just got done listening to Hotel California ten hour loop audiophile card was about to expire but we gucci now
Great video!
Thanks!
Wow...your music preference is really surprising haha
And i definitely agree with the watches bit. I remember when you showed a bit of your collection it was pretty cool but it definitely drains money fast.
Metal571 also got me deep into this hobby. What is your preference target curve vs Harman? I tend to reduce 3k while adding a bass shelf. That EQ melts me in the experience through my Kiwi Ears Quintet. P/S: Your audio level is not consistent. The volume in this video is quite lower compared to previous one
I like basically Harman, but slightly less energy around 4-6k.
Yeah, unfortunately, right now I have a lot of background noise when I'm recording, and if I boost it too much, then it sounds pretty bad, even with noise canceling post processing. I'm probably going to be moving soon, so hopefully, I'll be able to record in more consistent conditions and have more consistent levels
@@sidesaladaudio All the best!
Another watcher of metal571 back in the day myself here!
I had a question! But I forgot...
Sorry if this is dumb but. If you have some eartips you use daily can you make a video about them? Im kinda struggling haha
Fantastic video! I also love discovery! By the way, what's your take on comparing the Harman target to the IEF neutral with bass boost? How noticeable is the difference?
I think I prefer IEF Neutral 2023 with a slight bass shelf a little more, since I find straight harman can get a bit too fatiguing for me around 5k, but Harman is a more recognized standard, so it's still worth using that as a baseline to compare with.
The 2023 IEF already is boosted above DF by about 5 db. Not enough for many, but is absolutely enough for it to actually sound neutral without any boosting beyond that. The 2020 target is the one that is a flat line like DF. The 23 ramps progressively all through the bass region. It's very natural sounding, unlike the rise and tuck of harman.
@@sidesaladaudioharman is just too in your face man.
When you think about it it's basically a smoothed DF with a huge bass shelf. It does have some use cases like gaming (pinpoint imaging and epic bass)
But for music it's not that ideal.
IEF however is the perfect starting point, well almost, df with 8-10db tilt is a more universal one but IEF has been around for years now.
@mehmetgurdal the old target has, but the 2023 one is quite different. It takes the best parts of DF with the delayed pina rise, the gain of the 2020 model, and the bass transition of the tilt. Its the best target I have ever heard, but SR target is also quite similar with less presence region.
@@danaillaysen7632 which target are you talking about? IEF 2023 or Harman?
Any ideas why a rig with the same coupler/ear you're using would measure closed backs with like +10-20dB extra bass and no ear-gain, but several severe dips past 1kHz? Open backs look at least okay and IEMs look very good.
That's definitely pretty odd. What sort of fixture is it mounted in?
