My take would be he define punk as 70s groups like ramones, pistols, clash, the stooges, a good amount of them either broken up or had a drastically change in sound during the early 90s but of course there was still active scenes as you mentioned.
Head bangers ball at this time was pretty cool .......they had all kinds of shit at the time (no internet).I think he did alright with this considering who he was talking to.Looking back he wasn't the worst yet I don't think he was the brains behind anything that made the show of any value.Me and my circle used to die laughing at him at times but hey they played something from a lot of different types of sounds and styles and I can not imagine being some what of a tool and trying to keep up.He met a lot of cool people though-even if they thought he was a goon wich these to cats do.
