Hiya Ladies. Sorry to hear that. Amelia. We've all had a funny year. And nothing is kinda normal. I have had plenty of times like that recently. When my anxiety just kicked in. Making me feel panic. For no reason. But it might have been the heat and a little dehydrated.

I think in my case it was definitely the heat but I had no idea how common these things could be. A lot of people with similar experiences in the comments. If nothing else it’s made me more sympathetic and understanding of these things!

A panic attack is usually caused by overthing a situation or problem without reaching a rational answer... or,... it just being too hot.
I once had a panic attack onboard a Korean airlines 747 at thirty nine thousand feet. I have flown hundreds of times but on this occasion I flipped out. Oh well 😐...

I totally empathise with you as regards panic attacks absolutely horrible 😢 but you had an on call nurse so that was lucky. I had a bad experience one year i confidently got in a cable car and after 30 seconds regretted it not so much a panic attack but a bit shocked at my own reaction to being on it!!, So don't worry about it Amelia all the best to the both of you.
Oh Iv had a panic attack Amelia it’s horrible!! It looked a bit like a building site all that rubble you were climbing over!! Must say though you are both fit ladies!!. Not for me but it’s nice to see different adventures you go on!. Looking forward to the next video x

Amazing place! I was there yesterday. We couldnt find the trail or the arc , but we hiked thru the extreme canyon in middle 😅 Still was amazing tho! Wish i watched your video faster 😊

Thanks for this, another informative watch, glad you are recovered Amelia, and so honest and brave of you to post this. Sarah thought you were sporting a vintage 1980's Sweden football get up in the first shot on the climb, yellow top and blue shorts combo. What's the Covid situation like locally, had the announcement from Boris today and things starting to open up gradually in the UK but looks like we'll still need test before leaving and re-entering the UK even to 'green' countries on the traffic light system, so people may still not be able to get away on holidays easy this year. Might be another difficult season for local tourist industry in the Canaries.
Doing much better here, the cases are dropping and hospitalisations have gone back down. The big question will be whether UK separate out the islands or not. I have my doubts on this!
I think we’ll be looking at amber status to begin with, so will really depend on whether you have to self isolate on return. If that’s the case then I can see other countries being more attractive initially

Haha.....nice that you had some sympathy. I don’t like being cramped in the back of a car behind the driver who has long legs and you can’t move your feet ...caused me to have a partial panic attack on the M1
It’s amazing and also quite alarming what the human brain is capable of. I’m convinced it was the heat now but I’m not sure I’d like to be squished in the back of a car either 😀

Hi guys love your vlogs,its been about 4 years since we have been in Caleta,i'm wondering if you could tell me what hotels are open,im hoping to bring my partner back to Caleta to propose to her in June or July as we have so many happy memories there.
Hopefully more will be reopening once UK traffic light system is confirmed. At the moment- Elba Sara, Barcelo Castillo Beach, Sheraton and Eurostars Las Salinas are the larger hotels currently open. Quite a few of the smaller, apartment style places open too.

Amelia, I've done research in to panic attacks after having a similarly inexplicable one myself once. I found that in the middle of the day, on an empty stomach, strong coffee is almost always to blame. The coffee's consumed & then after about 20 minutes it comes 'on stream' causing palpitations which the conscious mind, being unable to explain, then magnifies in to a panic attack. The attack is at quite a surface level & it does go away but regardless, it is, as you say, very uncomfortable! I'd ask you to check back.....did you have a nice, strong Fuerteventurian coffee that morning? Incidentally, I lost my job over the incident as it made me feel that I had to leave a room when I wasn't authorised to.

Sarah is the coffee drinker out of the two of us, I actually stopped drinking coffee in Jan 2020 (not really sure why but I don’t seem to be missing it). I know some people can be very sensitive towards caffeine. I think on reflection it was the heat that caused mine and I am guilt of not hydrating well enough. Lesson learned 😀
@@AmeliaBolger Yes Amelia, dehydration would have a similar effect...all to do with originating the blood I think. Nothing worse than that tunnel-vision, that feeling that you might be having some sort of attack or melt-down. I say I lost my job...I'd actually finished a year of voluntary work on an exciting project to help young people turn their lives around. We were on a final training day with the Met Police in a conference centre & had been drinking coffee all morning. The day ended with going round the group, saying where we think we fitted in terms of the project going forwards. There was funding to take the original people on, full-time in paid positions but as it reached my turn I felt awful and had to get out of the room for some air. I came back in to looks of consternation & for me, the project went no further.
