    Fran Bilibi is also evidence of Tara kinda losing it. She pretty much never developed into what she was expected to be. She's basically just a mascot that dunks during pregame celebrations lol. That kind of athleticism should have been developed much better.

    Stanford and TVD underachieved but UCLA’s coaching is highly questionable at best. Even with all the talent, Cori Close will underachieve as she allows Osborne and Jones to be volume shooters, Rice to play reckless and never develop her shot, and have Betts been ineffective outside the rim/slow the offense. Be prepared to be significantly underwhelmed!

  • @alanlee3236

    Oh boy, your take is definitely LOADED. I think you've painted things a little darker than they are but I have to admit, I agree on several points. The Cardinal's rotation this past season was baffling to me at key times. And its coaches seemed asleep at the wheel at important junctures (see the 4th quarter of the SC game that they should have won). And Betts needed a lot more playing time. She needed the opportunity to mess up and grow with the confidence that her coach is investing in her. I disagree that she's a generational player; she's just tall with some good fundamentals. I really believe Brink will get the best of her when they play UCLA - regardless of the venue. Betts is too slow IMO. I also believe they put too much faith in Jump. When she's hot, she's hot. Unfortunately, that wasn't that often. And she was a deficit on D. I think they flat out wasted Prechtel. What a talent! Tough defender, great teammate, great shooter - especially considering she's 6'5. I think if UConn or SC had her, she would have gotten way more time and possible an award winner at the end of the season.
    All that said, TVD is not a bad coach and she still has talent on the roster. I'm confident she'll still recruit well and rebuild if she sticks around.
    Oh I almost forgot - 100% agree about Tara's remarks concerning Liv Dunne. Prehistoric!! I was so disappointed. Empower women with whatever they choose - don't judge them with your old-fashioned morals. I bet there are a lot of coaches who think the same way she does. Time to step out of the dark ages.
    Nice video!

    Tara's brought her teams to the Final Four every few years. Not nearly as consistently as she used to, but forcing her out runs the risk of a major step backward for the program. Her status as a coaching legend is half the reason she's still able to pull in major talent, but if she continues to fail to actually develop these players it's definitely time to start considering new options at head coach. Even the championship drought was staggering for a program whose name is often counted among WBB blue bloods.

Tara has 6 wins more than Geno. Tara has also coached for 6 years longer. Equivalent to an extra 225 games. Tara can't carry Geno's take out pizza order with her coaching skills.

    I know that Lexie Hull was one the starters for the Indiana Fever this year, the team that drafted her last year, but has lost her spot in the starting lineup to fellow second-year player, Kristy Wallace, whom the Fever acquired in a trade from the Atlanta Dream in this year's WNBA offseason. Wallace is from Australia and played her college basketball at Baylor. It might have something to do with Stanford, where Hull played her college ball at.

    I saw Betts transferring from the beginning. I remember watching both Betts and Rice and I was wondering why Betts wasn’t getting nearly as many minutes at Stanford as Rice was getting at Ucla. At first I was joking saying she’d go to Ucla, but the more I saw she was barely getting minutes, I already knew she was gonna transfer. Heck if I was the number one ranked in my class I’d be confused as to why I’m not getting playing time either. I can definitely understand if maybe she wasn’t performing well, but she’s 6’7 and as you mentioned she proved in the Americup games that she is more than capable. I am super excited to watch her and Rice play for Ucla :DD. It’ll be a heck of a run for them I think in the championship

    You also mentioned the lack of player development. UConn legit has multiple #1 ranked players out of HS who are nowhere to be found in the WNBA. Orrange, McCall, Williams were never #1 ranked players going into Stanford. Mosqueda Lewis (“retired”), Walker (WAIVED), Williams (WAIVED), and KL Samuelson (will probably be a bench player the rest of her wnba career) we’re all ranked at the top of their class but you call out the lack of development for programs who never had #1 players like these? 🤔🤔🤔
    Dawn Staley, and arguably Frese @ Maryland, have taken too talent and developed. If you’re a true reporter, let’s see you look at programs that constantly get multiple MCD AA like Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, Oregon, UCLA, etc and upload videos on why their coaches need to be fired 🤣

    • @superman55man88
      @superman55man88 Před 11 měsíci +1

      None of the UConn players transferred though…and UConn is still recruiting the most five star recruits out of high school year to year than anyone. The WNBA has been littered with UConn players throughout the years Stanford has had one WNBA success which is Nneka. Don’t come for UConn. Stanford is clearly on the decline while Geno and CD keep signing five star after five star. It’s also funny that KML and Lou were shaded when Tara literally begged BOTH to come to Stanford…and they went across country to Storrs as opposed to staying in their home state. There are also tons of good players not in the WNBA because of the lack of spots more so than not being good enough. This video is definitely speaking facts. Bringing up UConn who is no where near the boat Stanford is in just sounded like sour grapes.

He knew who was going to take the shot and failed to have Nurse or Gabby defending. Tara and Geno rely way too much on talent to win. I hated Duke but had mad respect for Coach K.
