11/15. How dare you jumpscare me with Suppe and confuse the Liebestod from Tristan with the prelude?
Thanks for the comment. In the Name "Prelude und Liebestod" - Liebestod simply physically did not fit into the line and only the Prelude remained.
Perhaps just use "Liebestod".
15/15, as usual.
10/15. If I don't know the piece I sometimes find it hard to decide between Bach or Handel. Never heard of Suppe although I've eaten some. Franck, Dvorak and Strauss fooled me. The other pieces I knew. Very good fun.
Good result. I also liked today's Suppe.
Suppé is one of those composers who only survived through his Overtures. None of his operatas stayed in the repertoire but the overtures were all the rage until the 80's. Everyone and their dog recorded them.
Love your quizzes! Keep them going!
I enjoy these greatly, but I don't like having only the English translation of the titles, particularly when it's also the text of the piece, because almost nobody uses those. To me, 7 is either Bach Christmas Oratorio, Weihnachts-Oratorium, or the first cantata from it "Jauchzet, frolocket."
Well actually 7 is can also be "Tönet ihr Pauken" because Bach did not write this music for the Christmas Oratorio.
He just re-used the opening Chorus of one of his Cantatas (BWV 213) with a new text.
Believe it or not, it was Bach that I thought for a long time about how best to write - in the original ("Jauchzet, frolocket!") or in English. I decided in English after all. Although I also think that many people know the works rather in the original language. So I understand you perfectly!
Mostly I can guess only 3 or 4. But I don´t mind; I´m a beginner in listening to classic music and I love your quizzes for all the samples to determine which composers I could like and which not so much.
It's great that through such entertaining videos, users get involved in listening to classical music!
This one was much easier. One complete mistake (Franck fooled me), 11 composers identified with certainty or quasi certainty, and 3 educated guesses. 7 works recognized, including Haydn with the exact number (it was the first I ever heard as a kid).
I'm glad that everything was so easy for you, although many of the melodies were not the simplest - you could recognize the author behind them. So the next one will be more complicated))
@@adiosmusictest Oops! I forgot to thank you for creating the quizz. It's always with great pleasure that I see you have just posted a new one. Please go on!
As always, I got number 15 right at least. 😂😂
This is a big plus, there will never be a zero result))
One of your easier ones! Thanks - fun.
Yes I agree. Users have recently complained about excessive complexity - I decided to make it a little simpler.
14/15 - missed the Franck but overall easier than last time
Thanks for your excellent results. Perhaps you should take more difficult quizzes to feel some difficulties .. for example, guessing Symphonies or Overtures))
Please keep these videos coming!
I will definitely continue. Thank you!
better than last time, eight of the fifteen I got
Thanks for posting the result. I will periodically update statistics on all tasks.
Thanks for another entertaining quiz. I got 12/15 correct.
And thank you for another great comment!
14/15. I didn’t recognise the Debussy, I thought it was Rach. Shame on me!
what a shame...
that's because they didn't play quite far enough, a few more seconds and I would have got it
In my previous quiz about flags, Debussy plays the entire video without stopping 10 minutes))
I'm not doing well today. Oh no, not that Sarabande - I turn the radio off when they play that!
But I like this version of Sarabande, I guess I'm not very demanding and picky))
I guess it is I get bored with things that repeat at lot.
Cuz they're doing it all wrooooong!!! It's a CHAMBER piece for chrissake!))))
It's always the easiest to guess vivaldi lol
The same can be said about Mozart, you just need 2-3 seconds))
@@adiosmusictest true that
8:21 I see what you did there.
You are very observant, but these clues are just here for fun. By the way, it’s very difficult to come up with them every time))
No. 8 is not exactly G.F. Handel’s work: his HWV 437 was a keyboard piece and the version you used was orchestrated by Leonard Rosenman for Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon.
Thank you for the clarification. Such details are told to me only in the comments, thanks to which I have already learned a lot of new things))
@@adiosmusictest I just recognised the record I have :) and since I'm a fan of Stanley Kubrick and especially of his Barry Lyndon oeuvre...
The problem is you can nowhere find any 'original' Sarabande record, there are only the orchestrated versions around.
Thanks for the channel btw, it's a lot of fun - even for the old guys like me who'd lost all their memory ('Oh yes, I heard this, I remember this!!! Who may've composed this? Blipping heck... I don't remember...' - this is how you videos torture me!)
@@PartiallyGeorge By the way, if we believe CZcams statistics, then about 40% of my channel are people aged 55 and older... apparently the older a person is, the more interested he is in the classics))
12/15 и 111/135.
