Rashida Jones has a gorgeous voice! She sang once in Parks & Rec, and you could tell she could carry a tune, but this is awesome. Maya Rudolph is another surprise. Just fantastic!!!
Simply wonderful....doesn't matter that some of the singing is off key....just so sweet😊 ...wish I had seen this show when it aired....LOVE Bill Murray and Maya Rudolph (she's adorable)
This is much better than I expected sounds good and even Murray, who doesn't have much of a voice, doesn't detract from this. Why? I can feel the heart in this performance.
What a stellar line-up - Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones (daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton), David Johansen (New York Dolls), Maya Rudolph (daughter of Minnie Riperton and Richard Rudolph) - and not forgetting Bill Murray. WOW!
You left out Jason Schwartzman is the son of actress Talia Shire (The Godfather, Rocky) and nephew to director Francis Ford Coppola. And Paul Shaffer (Dave Letterman) on piano too. Now that's a lot of name dropping!
And you left out that Maya Rudolf is the partner and mother of the children of Paul Thomas Anderson, the greatest filmmaker of his generation. This could be a scene from one of his movies but it's not. Where IS this from?
LOL. Yes, to hear a good version. Rashida Jones is overrated. She's a show-biz brat. Bill Murray is weird. Schwartzman's appeal eludes me. Johansen was in New York Dolls, who were produced by Rundgren at one time. He eludes me too. Rudolph is okay, but also a show-biz kid . Once is enough for me. It's not good music or a funny video.
Bill had a lot of practice singing when he was young and on SNL. He was the lounge singer who sang Star Wars badly on purpose. That character was so funny.
Oddly intrigued by Jason Schwartzman in this video lol. Bill Murray looking at him like, “That’s a nice voice ya got there buddy!” Also surprised to find that the guy who plays Michael in The Princess Diaries is his brother, Robert Schwartzman. But now that I know, I can totally see the resemblance.
From the New York Dolls. And he & Bill Murray also got together on the great music video from Buster Poindexter -"Hot Hot Hot" back in 1987. Good stuff!!
Although this classic peaked at only #29 in Billboard, it has touched many souls.
It is nearly a perfect song.
12 years old and reminiscing profusely. 62 years old and reminiscing - still. My favourite song. Back in the time. Timeless.
It's tough to mess this song up. Actually impossible. One of the best songs ever wrote. Todd Rundgren is a Musical genius!
have to agree
IT's A Tune
There's a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye ❤
Rashida Jones has a gorgeous voice! She sang once in Parks & Rec, and you could tell she could carry a tune, but this is awesome. Maya Rudolph is another surprise. Just fantastic!!!
Agreed! Isn't Maya Rudolph the daughter of Minnie Ripperton? She has it in her!
@@channelmixer and Rashida is Quincy Jones' daughter. Interesting trivia :)
One of the coolest covers I've ever seen, luv it!!!
this song was in Kingpin with Bill Murray, and this song rules. Kingpin is Murray's best movie too
Alan Lloyd agree. You know he ad libbed 90% of his scenes
Music...that language of the gods. What a great cover!
The original of this tune is easily in my Top 40 pop songs of all time.
Bill Murray was in a band in high school called The Dutchmasters. He was the lead singer.
Simply wonderful....doesn't matter that some of the singing is off key....just so sweet😊 ...wish I had seen this show when it aired....LOVE Bill Murray and Maya Rudolph (she's adorable)
Rasheedah Jones, daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton. Maya Rudolph's mom is the late great Minnie Riperton, RIP. Carol M.
Entertaining, just about my all time favorite classic from the Seventies,
This will forever be my Christmas memory of 2015. Bravo.
Todd wrote this song in 20 minutes on Ritalin. Respect ✊ 😂
Brilliant
I don't know about the Ritalin but the best ones coming about 20 minutes to a half hour
It was a real wild time between late 71 and mid 72 even though I don't remember a lot of it... I seem to remember when the songs came out
BRAVO! I appreciate them not making a mockery of a beautiful love song and one of my personal favorites
This is beautiful.
I have to agree with Chosen Won this is beautiful, exquisite....one of my favorite songs done sin a truly romantic and warm way
I remember this song in kingpin awesome Murray movie
i love this song and Bill too
See how music makes everything better
This is a Gem!!
Way to introduce good music to the youngsters!
My man. No "youngsters" watched this.
@@jonphillips2123 How do you know this?
This is much better than I expected sounds good and even Murray, who doesn't have much of a voice, doesn't detract from this. Why? I can feel the heart in this performance.
Lights out fantastic
Oh, that was so f*&king cool!!!
I'm just thrilled to see Herman Blume and Max Fischer reunited. Rushmore!
freaking great...funny David Johansen too. Todd of course the NY Dolls.
WOW!
And fucking Phoenix

True!!! And Rashida has a gorgeous voice!!!!!

you all should listen to Todd Rundgren's original

My favorite Todd song!

Lovely. Rashida sounds great.

Lovely!
Is that David Johansen singing with Maya Rudolph? Play it again!
It is!
WONDERFULL
I love this version
Todd & Bill rOOl!!
Love this....
Incredibile. Clamoroso. Todd sarà felice
Jeffersons on ice? I LOVE SHERMAN HELMSLEY!!!!
Paul Shaffer Ladies and Gentlemen... Paul Schaffer
Doesn't compare to Todd Rundgren's original in anyway but it still is a sweet and entertaining cover.
It's quite clearly not meant to be serious. Jesus.
Bill had a lot of practice singing when he was young and on SNL. He was the lounge singer who sang Star Wars badly on purpose. That character was so funny.
Cool jam!
Maya, so groovy.
bill Murray sings todd rundgren
putz! Muito bom!
Dang, Maya should release an album!
Louis O. Yes

This is from the movie "A Very Murray Christmas", right?
Good song
I like
Bill Murray connection, the song was featured in Kingpin.
Oddly intrigued by Jason Schwartzman in this video lol. Bill Murray looking at him like, “That’s a nice voice ya got there buddy!” Also surprised to find that the guy who plays Michael in The Princess Diaries is his brother, Robert Schwartzman. I just discovered this too!
Jason sings or sang lead for the band Coconut Records. Love their single Nighttiming.
@@mariacatalinacurtis3241 just listened! It’s pretty catchy, I like it
Bill Murray and Jason Schartzman - did we forget to add the woman who sand big portions of song?
bad ass!!!
David Johansen
From the New York Dolls. And he & Bill Murray also got together on the great music video from Buster Poindexter -"Hot Hot Hot" back in 1987. Good stuff!!

From the holiday special Murray Christmas
Buster Poindexter!
how, exactly, did bill Murray do this song?
Minnie's daughter should be able to sing a bit ya'd reckon!
here is a little known fact. Maya Rudolph's mom was a famous singer in the 70's . google a song called "Inside My Love" by
Minnie ripperton
Is that Buster Poindexter?
これは、いいですね、
David Jo of the N.Y. Dolls and Maya Rudolph of Bronx Beat ... take a verse too...
Fun
What is this from? Bill, David Johansson/Buster Poindexter, Maya Rudolph, Jason & Rashida Jones 😊
What film is this from?

Rashida and Maya have music in their genes.
Zoe Descachell??
or Rashida Jones
Maya Rudolph has some decent pipes.., takes after her mom Minnie Riperton...
Is that Paul Schaefer?
I was wondering the same thing. It does look like him.
what is this from?
The pits of Hell.
The pits of Hell...
Of course Rashida can sing, why not have everything.
Of course she can. Quincy Jones is her father, so she probably plays multiple instruments as well.
What movie is this from??
A Very Murray Christmas
Rashida Jones doesn't get the credit. She's the singer here.
and Maya Rudolph FFS.
Oh no Illuminati puppets singing a classic
omf
Nothing like being together over drinks with friends and singing great songs, somewhat off key, and not giving a flying F.
Sorry,I don't think so...............it's Rundgren or nobody!
Their singing is awful but it is indeed a magical moment in this movie 😊
😆 🤣 😂 that was awful.... but good try, good try
Don't know whether to laugh or feel horribly awkward. This cover is awful. Bill Murray should admit he's no longer relevant. Otherwise, keep it up.😉
So fucking awful
The young male jew cannot sing.
Terrible. Why was this posted.
This will forever be my Christmas memory of 2015. Bravo.
