You can tell Cheggers was a lovely man. I told him a cheesy joke on Twitter once and he took the time out to DM me saying it made him laugh. Such a sad loss
@@FreddieShreddieTV fuck!!! I was never interested in him before he was on extras ( when are game show hosts ever interesting .. ( escl8ding Micheal Barrymoore and John Leslie ) But I was impressed with him in this!! He was brutal with himself all so other people could have a laugh at his image ..
Extras really is exceptional. I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves these days (it did at the time) just because it's overshadowed historically by Ricky and Stephen's preceding programme. The final episode of Extras is extraordinary.
This series is utter genius. It tackles every single subject in life. It so poignant and beautiful but always done with the immense platform of humour . Completely outstanding x
I bet Ricky watched Cheggers Plays Pop on TV in the 70s too. I remember him on the Big Breakfast in the 90s. He was always so upbeat and likeable. It's great to see how well he and Ricky gel in this. "Cheggers Plays Cock" haha!
In addition to be being hilarious, this is a legitimately amazing featurette. These are all well-respected and genuinely talented people offering insight into what it's like filming the absurd and how truly difficult it is! Also, it's a bloody riot. 🤣
I love it when they laugh hysterically while breaking character especially when talking dirty. They are human beings after all. You know people would probably pay a moderate amount of money to see these kind of dirty outtakes in a complimation video sold on DVD.
I swear, the 3rd time he says, "Ivy restaurant", the head turn he does is downright attacking! XD It's like he's bloody throwing the words out his mouth at her, DEMANDING the laugh! Lmao, what a wit.
Ian once said on Graham Norton how much fun he had on Extras, and how much he loved the script. In his words 'the laughs just fall out'. A lot of the time you laugh because youre expecting the line at any moment.
Oh the worst thing about corpsing becomes the anticipation! After the first two times, you know the funny line or moment is coming up and you're practically dying laughing before you even get to it! It makes it so impossible. I've also tried the running around to kind of burn off the energy
I think an upside to corpsing is whenever someone loses it because of one of the minor details that remind you of the absurdity of what you're doing, you can then re-do the line and emphasize what made the other actor laugh to make the scene funnier. Of course you then have to get through it without laughing eventually.
I'll never forget the day when a colleague and I were invited to attend the engineering apprentice's project presentations. So we're in this (what I would deem) overly formal presentation in this meeting room for this lad's shield project presentation. He's going through talking about the project management tools he used, the concept selection methods, Gantt charts etc. Then when he described the final design solution and talked through it, someone asked how much it would weigh, to which the lad replied "500 kilos." Will the second it left his lips and long before he could correct himself I snorted. Then all I could hear behind me was my friend trying his absolute hardest to stifle a laugh, which in turn made me want to burst out laughing. I can say the next five minutes were the hardest five minutes of a meeting I'd ever endured. It wasn't that funny, but it was just how it was such a facade meeting being taking so seriously, as if he was from BAE or Rheinmetall or something, then he tells us his personal shield system design weighed 500kg. Like why did he say 500? He couldn't have meant grams or lbs. What did he mean to say? 😂
Ironically whilst watching the "Ivy Restaurant" out takes, I suddenly realised how annoying it must be for all those background extras having to constantly reset and walk into shot on queue. At some point you must be thinking "screw this".

The inability to stop laughing is one of life's bittersweet pleasures!
well said. totally agree
Totally agree my man 😂 😆 😹 . . . . . . . !!!!!!!
Write that down; that's a quote for the ages!
Watching bloopers is the quickest way for me to boost my mood. Ricky Gervais never fails to crack me up 😂

It's poor. The Bowie one was awful

Don’t like the forced bloopers though. It’s overkill.
It's poor
Keith was a friend, we knew him for years. Great chap, great sense of humour, so sad what happened. Still miss him…
I can imagine. He seemed like a truly decent man.

I swear, if i need a good laugh all i need to do is watch some Ricky Gervais or some of his bloopers.
They mentioned this on the graham Norton show and now I’m crying laughing 😂 thanks tv thanks
When Ian McKellen says “bollocks” in that posh voice 😂😂
wizZARddd....
Rest In Peace Keith Chegwin.

WHAT THE FCK CHEGGERS IS DEAD?????!!
@@EvilKris I didn't realise it either, apparently Cheggers died in 2017.

Ricky Gervais is a genius of what he's created but his laugh could shatter 1000 windows
It is miraculous that they even get anything done
Undoubtedly the funniest collection of bloopers I've ever seen.

i like when stephen is in head is popping out the toilet cubercle and ricky turns around and bursts out laughing when he sees him.
This just SO PROVES how infectious laughter is. Great stuff..... 🤣 🤣 🤣
Imagine trying to get through a scene with Ricky Gervais. Same with Julia on Seinfeld. Love them both.
The bit he does with Liam Neeson on Life's too short is hilarious, I really don't know how they got through it 😜
The joy of being unable to stop smiling or laughing is becoming so rare on TV these days...
Aww,Keith Chegwin,still hard to believe 😥🙏🏼
He was hilarious in Extras!!

Brilliant! My fav is Ian McKellan, so funny.
@Tom B Still waiting for an answer?
In other words greatest job ever. I'm so glad I had HBO and saw these as they were releasing each episode.
Cheggers absolute legend rip🙏🏻

Some of the situations in extras are just so unbelievably silly I would be on the floor in tears trying to do these scenes
It's same thing for me at funerals
That must be its own special hell - to do a scene with Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais.
Ricky's laugh is brilliant!!
He sure did!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely crying, thank you

If you’re an aspiring actor and you see how corpsing affects even Sir Ian bloody Mckellan, it must be quite reassuring!
Funny as hell, and I'm also glad that Cheggers had a fun time. He and Gervais were only 4 years apart in age, Cheggers being a child star.
ricky's laugh cheer me right up after a bad day "morning canvirs per hahahahah!!!"

Lisa Tarbuck is awesome
I think the wank blooper got funnier and funnier

this might be the funniest video on youtube
How the fuck did they ever get anything shot this is hysterical 🤣
12:40 - Feel so bad for the extras in background, how many times they walk back and forth :D
Oh god yeah, walking back and forth
SEND FOR THE MAN!
The fact that stephen Merchant keeps his hands under the desk no matter what happens begs the obvious question .
Bazza Mr merchant and Ricky...tbh is the perfect combination... Should of put pilkington in for a few... Fantastic
Gervais's laugh is.....i dont know, sort of indescribable.
It's like a hyena being screwed
its like turning the volume button from low to Xtremly high...to the point of thier being broken glass
