I am so glad to see someone use that concrete tool. I saw it online back at the beginning of winter in 2019. I had every intention on renting it in the spring of 2020. As you know the world had other things planned. If the temperatures stay like they are here right now I might not even need to wait until spring. Normally we have real harsh winters with freezing temperatures ice storms and a good amount of snow. So far this winter's been pretty mild. The only thing I need to worry about is what temperature that I can use the paint in. I'm going to give the one that you bought a try. Years ago when I fixed up my garage I used a different product that did not even hold up over a year. Even a drop of oil or gasoline would remove the paint. After watching your success with the paint you use I'm looking forward to trying it.

We started using Xylene at a factory I worked at for the paint process. Actually the fire department in the city wasn't too happy about it! Xylene is very dangerous... we had to keep it stored in a blast container far away from the factory. Apparently if water falls into it, there is a reaction and it can explode. Extremely reactive. We were told that if there is ever an event in the plant with the Xylene, If there's some fire with Xylene being inside, we have to evacuate far away... Even homes anywhere close to the factory would also have to be evacuated by the fire department due to the fumes!! They were pointing to houses seriously far away! I'd have to drive away at least 1 mile minimum to be kinda safe. Crazy stuff!! We had drums of it but only drop by drop was added to the primer. It was for transport truck springs. Even after curing in the ovens and over into assembly... the stuff had a weird smell! I understand what he's saying!!

Put the table height on the bench fairly high, and bright lighting onto your bench is important. Think about having vents across your across; you'll need it on some projects. For those doing their own floor, be careful. Some kits require a specific temperature and humidity range to apply and cure. You'll be tempted to close the garage door(s) to keep those conditions, but you are also sealing in the fumes. The fumes can cause real health issues while working in the garage, and even permeate into the house, lasting for days. My floor turned out great, but just use caution.

Looks great Cameron, just some advice from a lighting professional with 23 years of experience: Since you're going to use the shop as a professional workspace you will want about 50 foot candles of light at 5,000 kelvin white with a CRI of 90 or better. Your current lighting in your shop is about 8fc! From the looks of the space you could use twelve 2x2 led panels in a 3 x 4 layout. Each panel produces about 4000 lumens and cost around $50 each. You can check out the AcuityBrands visual lighting interior tool to help you with different fixtures, dimensions, and layout.

The reason the garage door is heavy is the springs are sized appropriately to the size and weight of the door. You will destroy the opener and the springs will break way sooner than normal. I recommend getting a professional to come out price you a fully insulated steel back door. You've done all that work and your door has an R value of about 4. You have a tin can covering a 16' hole in your wall. Go with a door that has a r value of about 17 and you'll really feel the difference

I’m moving from dtphx to uptown Phoenix... gotta build a garage from scratch. Great info! Cracking up watching since I’ll be tackling a lot of the same messy ass work.
