കേരളത്തിലെ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാന വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമാണ് രാമക്കൽമേട്. തേക്കടി-മൂന്നാർ റൂട്ടിൽ നെടുംകണ്ടത്തിനു 15 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ്‌ ഈ സ്ഥലം. കേരള-തമിഴ്‌നാട് അതിർത്തിയിൽ, സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 1100 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തിലാണ് രാമക്കൽമേട്. നിലയ്ക്കാത്ത കാറ്റിനാൽ സമ്പന്നമാണ് ഇവിടം. ഇന്ത്യയിലേറ്റവുമധികം കാറ്റു വീശുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലവുമാണിത്, കൂടാതെ മണിക്കൂറിൽ ശരാശരി 32.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ വേഗത്തിൽ കാറ്റു വീശാറുണ്ട്. ചിലയവസരങ്ങളിൽ അത് മണിക്കൂറിൽ 100 കിലോമീറ്റർ വരെയാകും. കാറ്റിൽ നിന്നും വൈദ്യുതി ഉല്പാദിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിൻഡ് എനർജി ഫാമിന്റെ കേരളത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ സ്ഥലമാണിത്. കുറച്ചു വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപു നിർമ്മിച്ച കുറവൻ, കുറവത്തി പ്രതിമകളും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ട്. ഇവിടെ നിന്നും നോക്കിയാൽ തമിഴ്നാടിന്റെ ദൂരകാഴ്ചകളും, കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളും കാണാം. പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ശ്രീരാമ-ദുർഗ്ഗാ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Ramakkalmedu is a historic site with a monument to Kuravan and Kurathi, a large statue that depicts the Sangam Period and Sangam landscape of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The monument provides a panoramic view of Tamil Nadu villages and towns, including Cumbum, Theni, Kombai, Thevaram, Uthamapalayam, Bodinaykannor, and Vaiga. Rolling green hills and the fresh mountain air make Ramakkalmedu an enchanting retreat. The view is striking at dusk when all these towns in Tamil Nadu are lit up.
Ramakkalmedu, the name of the place, literally means "Land of Rama’s Stone" or "Land where Rama set his holy foot" (Rama is a Hindu deity in the epic Ramayana). One story suggests that Rama, accompanied by his younger brother Lakshmana, set foot at the top of Ramakkalmedu in search of his wife Sita, who had been abducted by the rakshasa king of Lanka, Ravana.
The Twin Statue was sculpted by C.B. Jinan and erected on the hill's summit in the year 2005. This statue depicts two historical characters with a connection to the construction of the Idukki Dam. The Idukki Arch dam links two massive rock hills named Kuravan Mala (Kuravan Hill) and Kurathi Mala
