  • Had to re-upload the video due to low sound levels sorry!!
    Now we know what the controls on a synth do, its time to start making your first sound! This time we're making a very basic pad sound, a great starting place for a beginner.

    Hi everyone I had to re-upload yesterday's video as it the sound had turned out really low in volume. CZcams no longer have a way of me editing it without removing and re-uploading. Sorry!

      Synth Tips and Tricks Thanks for fixing it, was a great video but I could hardly hear it. Please continue this series, your 4 parter was the best explanation of the components of a synthesiser I have seen, and I watched quite a lot of different ones.

    Hey there. I'm an experienced musician who is just now learning synthesis. I've found a bunch of CZcams videos and so far yours have been the most useful to me, the right combination of theory and practicality. So thank you! Also, the volume on this one is still very low for some reason.

    This video is nice but using the supersaw setting which most synths do not have was a shame.
    You did explain what it does so we can recreate it using unison I guess?
    Still thanks man!

    • @synthtipsandtricks522
      @synthtipsandtricks522  Před 3 lety +1

      If your synth doesn't have a supersaw (or equivalent) then you could use either a unison effect, or just use two regular saw waves and slightly detune one of them to create a thicker sound. You can also apply a chorus effect (which the system-1 doesn't have) which are also really great at creating the width needed for a pad sound. Basically, use whatever you have! All synths are different and have different features and effects, so using whatever features are available to you can help you create a sound that is more uniquely yours. Thanks for watching!

    Hey, I've got a simple problem for you.
    Let's say I'm a 16 year old boy, with 300 dollars of chore money, and a need for a synth. I'm not really sure where to begin. I'm sure I'll figure out how to use a synth or a setup if I'll afford one, but I wanna know how to hook one up and deal with the technical stuff.
    I don't have a computer, and I have a lot of USBs, so charging battery powered keyboards isn't an issue. The issue is mostly price and technicality. What analog keyboard do you suggest? Should I buy any extra components with the leftover money to amplify the sound or hook it up into a speaker of some sort? I'm very confused, and money is tight.

    • @synthtipsandtricks522
      @synthtipsandtricks522  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Ethan, I think you could use the System-1 for this, but the only issues you might run in to would be polyphony. The system-1 can only play 4 notes, so if you like long held chords you might get note stealing (sounds like the chord just cuts off when you change notes). You could look at something like the JD-Xi, which has more polyphony, that could be a better choice for similar money (but it has small keys).
