It’s because Connor reserves restaurant tables under Tanaka, because if he says his name, the person on the phone when reserving, most of the time, ends up asking where he’s from and all that. He just puts down Tanaka to avoid the awkward conversation

That’s funny because I live in the United States and I have that experience often. No matter how many times I go to certain restaurants, they will never treat me like a regular customer. Even though I was born here and speak English perfectly.

Read about a story where a black girl was always visiting this barbeque place who had a supposed white racist chef who keeps on denying colored customers. Girl tasted his barbeque once and cant help but come back for more.
