    Very interesting to see how you graft the cactus and I may extend my interest in succulent and plant to cactus as well to see your video.
    Anyway succulents and cactus are close friends! Love your video and thank you for sharing the techniques! 💖 💖

    • @AzFloraENG
      @AzFloraENG  Před 5 lety +1

      Thank you! This process is necessary for colored cacti. For example, a completely red cactus can not have ordinary roots. Therefore, it is grafted.

    • @megasocky
      @megasocky Před 5 lety

      Think of it like quartering. Colored cacti cant grow roots, so they "borrow" a regular cacti's roots to develop. Most cacti you see with colored tops and a normal bottom are grafted.

    i have a large "cereus repandus" if i cut the top off there would be a space at least 200mm can i multigraft several scions like maybe 6 to this one space of all different color scions thanks (edit should i use some type of glue and what type and can i graft a scion to the top of another scion, also when i buy the already grafted rootstock and scion can i graft that rootstock straight to the "cereus repandus" rootstock will this work better. I think it's called nurse grafting)

    What will happen if we don’t cut side shoots from the root stock? Why did you said it’s a problem, side shoots were looking good to me.

    • @Olivia-pr2dz
      @Olivia-pr2dz Před 8 lety +1

      I'm pretty sure it's because it will continue growing the side shoot and not the grafted part.

    • @vanessabelt2747
      @vanessabelt2747 Před 4 lety

      because the rootstock has to put all its energy into supporting the scion. If the rootstock has side shoots, it is supporting those too, which takes away from the scion. Best to remove.

    • @PieterZwaan
      @PieterZwaan Před 8 lety +5

      +Usa Klein It's called an ''exacto'' knife. You can buy it in any hobby shop. His isn't sharp though.
      The most important thing for grafting is that your knife is sharp and sterile. Use for example alcohol for sterilising.
      A knife I would recommend is ''carbone'' knife (with the e).
