What's crazy is that Meta couldn't make this happen after spending upwards of a billion dollars. Yuga is making this happen on a much smaller budget.

My brain is breaking. Good job describing the paradigm shift. Any advice on what we should do to position ourselves? Which games will be the most disrupted? I suppose the less popular MMOs could leapfrog the MMO kings... no? I can see this being used for virtual conferences - like Comicon. Right?
100% correct. Normally applying this tech to games is natural and it'll create new types of games. I think the bigger deal here is when humans have less and less jobs, the metaverse will left up economies in the same way Axie Infinity lifted the Philippines.

Have you looked at their vesting schedule gentlemen?
The vesting schedule isn't favorable and its interesting that 100% of the tokens will be released at the projected next peak of the bull market (About when Bitcoin is suppose to peak). I doubt its a coincidence. However the tech is solid and proven. I would keep an eye on the marketcap as time goes on.
Is this really a break through? WOW did this 15 years ago... and character had unique properties, items skills. This is not a very good selling point. Gameplay is at the core of all gaming, not population size.
In this "game" everyone is using the same exact sprite and if you really want to have a revolutionary game you are probably going to have to have a mobile experience, and I doubt this can translate over to mobile.
Anyways back to gameplay, needs to be killer gameplay. This looks trash. The only "cool" part about this game is that you get to pretend you are part of some kind of history.
In my opinion blockchain game devs would be smarter to focus on the mobile experience and create fun silly small games like flappy bird, diablo immortal, tetris, that can capitalize on micro transaction and giving fractionalized rewards that incentivize players to keep playing. Selling ads.
And mmo gaming will always be limited by users internet connection. Thats why you dont want 10000000 players in a game like counterstrike because response time is the most important thing in competitive gaming. Not saying we cant ever get there. But its just not realistic yet till everyone is on gigabit fiber connections.
And theres already way cooler free games that mimic this same mmo style Planetside being a great example.
Appreciate the feedback. WOW did not do this. Iman played WOW for a decade and this level of people in a single experience was not happening on WOW. Yeah they had millions of players but not all on the same map. This tech will enea le new genres. And the metaverse isn’t a game. But you can have gameplay in it.
@@TheBlockRunner I guess i don't really see how WOW and games like it aren't the metaverse. Its a digital space where people are interacting. Size and scale is subject to change over time but the general essential experience is the same. Humans interacting in a digital space. I want the "metaverse" to be as real as anyone else. But this isn't it. If this game looked like cyberpunk that would be a different story. But maybe its just the artists or art style, this doesn't look anywhere close to AAA gaming today. It might be just a tech demo, but in 2023, this game isn't it.
