As a Bucs fan of 30 years, this has been such a crazy 2+ years. Between Brady coming with Gronk, AB jumping on then off board, Fournette coming in, a SB win at home, a NFC championship loss last year, Arians wild pressers, Brady retiring then un-retiring and now Arians retiring.

Idk I think Brady had a lot to do with it. First off, he would have retired immediately vs waiting til after FA started and right before draft. I really think Tom's retirement was a power move. It put them in a position where they had to choose between the 2. I'm sure it was communicated to Brady that BA wouldn't be back prior to his return. Think about it too.. if BA retired and Tom immediately came back, that would look horrible. Other way around too. With the gap of time, it at least gives the perception that wasn't the case. What do you mean? Obviously it is because Brady wanted him gone!!! It isn't like BA is 70 yeras old and already had a battle with cancer and his achilles was about to explode at the end of the last season. It isn't like BA has been considering retirement for a few years now and got himself a superbowl and few good years to go out on. And it isn't like BA is probably the most open person when talking to the press and put out a whole statement about how he just wanted to pass on a good team and knew that the way things are going he can set up Bowles for success.
Oh wait those things are all true. Maybe this one thing actually has nothing to do with Brady. But it is hard for sports media to not connect everything that happens in the NFL to Tom Brady. This coming from a long time Bucs fan who greatly appreciates everything TB12 did for the franchise. Im so sick of hearing Tom Brady's name when he isn't on the field or a part of the story.
It is crazy people can hear the quotes from his press conference and their instant reaction is, "Well of course that is what Tom would want him to say." It's like asking someone if they committed a crime, they tell you they didn't and you responding with, "Likely story."

I don't know what to believe anymore. The narrative I saw was that Tom Brady wasn't going to play for Tampa Bay anymore. There was a conspiracy theory that Sean Peyton and Tom Brady were going to meet up in Miami for a hot second. (Which I sort of believed since Brain Flores was fired for no good reason and Sean Peyton quickly resigned, were unusual). Bruce Arians was reacting to the accusations that he and Tom Brady weren't getting along. Then Bruce Arians said something about wanting draft picks if Tom Brady doesn't return to Tampa Bay. Then Bruce Arians was vocal about how he would've went all in on a QB if Tom Brady wasn't playing for Tampa Bay. And then yesterday Tom Brady posted on Twitter, showing how he and Bruce Arians were good friends the whole time. I think Bruce Arians was just taking the bait on the whole narrative.

BA has injuries, old age injuries, the man is almost 70.
So when he retires, people are like that was Tom's fault

I seriously doubt Brady has any complaints about Bruce in any way shape or form. Bruce is 70 or over and not in good health. Now if Brady knew his head coach was going to be Todd fricking Bowles he would have stayed retired. Buccaneers are making a mistake with Bowles as a Head Coach. The offensive coordinator is to conservative Bowles won’t change that. Player management was Bruce’s strong suit, the opposite of Bowles. The back half of the season the Buccaneers will fall apart.

BA keeps it real when he's talking about the failings of others... not himself. I think it was his idea to all out blitz the Super Bowl winning Rams when they were on the 25 yard line with 40 seconds to go needing only a field goal to win. I think that "genius" decision enraged Brady so much since he fought and clawed them back to a tie and that's why Tom retired in the first place. "I'll come back if Bozo isn't here."
