- Located in-between the tiny towns of Hanksville and Caineville in central Utah, the Skyline Rim at Factory Butte is a remarkable mesa that offers 180-degree views of the surrounding desert landscape. This proved to be a fantastic location for aerial photography and abstract landscapes captured using a telephoto lens.

Cool stuff love the abstract that can be achieved in photography
I have been to this spot and the landscape is usually referred to as "otherworldly." It is a stark beauty that is unmatched anywhere else.
Planning a trip there next week.
Thanks for all your effort to take us along on your adventure. I've really been enjoying your channel.
Great video, Todd. Was not really familiar with this part of Utah.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve got this location on my list for next. Awesome images. No stranger to this area, but never to this spot and Long Dong Silver. This area is very special. Looking forward to your future adventures.😀👍
Gorgeous work! I'm heading there myself early October! No drone no 100-400mm lens; will have to work with my 17-35, 28-70, and 70-200 Canon's. Wish me luck!
Amazing work! I really enjoyed this video. Great images, great music, great voice over...I want the last photo hung up on my wall. Keep up the great work!
Really enjoy your work - both photo and video. Thanks for doing this and sharing.
Wowww these shots are awesome!
I'm bookmarking this as visual inspiration for my oil painting. I want to incorporate more abstractions of nature into my style, as the environment for the expressive figures (humans and other species) which I paint in. Like it's all intermingles forms; the figures and organic surroundings.
I liked the shapes of the painting behind you in your studio, in another video. Nice leading lines to your face too.
The absence of any identifiable landmarks and the subtleness of the color palette meld with one another in such a way that, in my opinion, defines the word "sublime". It is interesting that such a harsh landscape can give forth such a romantic & fragile essence. Similar to a pen and ink rendering with a sienna watercolor wash. While I shoot very different subject matter ... I do try to find the most abstract and non linear view of it I can fit into the frame, hoping to invite a potential viewer to linger for a moment to interpret.
Excellent images. Thanks for making it available.
JAY SIGAL Awesome perspective. Thanks Jay. :)
Yeah, I call "edge patrol" "border patrol" in my landscape classes. People tend to remember that. The other thing I use at times is Charlie Waites' quote, "Attend to everything in the image and let everything attended to, be intended, or accepted to be there." In other words, ensure what you want in the photo is there and things you don't want aren't unless you have determined them acceptable in order to get the shot.
Superb Video and imagery. Very well done! Headed there Monday. (Social Distancing and all that you know)! At least that's what I'm going to tell the MRS.
NIce. You'll love it! Can get windy if you're camping. 🌬
You sounds like a newscaster
