The COVID-19 pandemic exposed a gap in the access to lifesaving medical supplies, especially for the most vulnerable populations. The G20 can play a vital role in encouraging local and regional manufacturing to address this gap and ensure equitable access. This can be achieved by fostering a comprehensive research & development ecosystem that promotes innovation and increasing multilateral collaborations to incentivize technology transfers.
PATH supports these multilateral initiatives by taking an end-to-end approach, providing technical expertise and identifying funding gaps to promote sustainable local manufacturing.
