Magnets in this game are one of the best (and broken) things. Will you die from nothing going in? Will you die from laughter? Or will you win by oneshotting the enemies with 30 things picked out at once? Who knows

to many mags are a thing. ive had many a pull where nothing went in cuz i had the entire collection and couldnt make it over the wall. once time i had a stack so damn high i was just using the claw to hit it over the wall, free items...kinda.
Midas, whetstone, magnet. Avoid big metal stuff like swords, helmets, and chestplate so it doesn't get clogged.
Fluffy perk. HP for gold. Gold dagger.
Under the right circumstances, the magent will fly and pull thigns into the exit tube, allowing for ZERO GRAB WINS.
Matt after 17 times of choosing to pick things up on the left side of his magnet and them falling out of the machine: "What?! The Magnet dropped everything!? Stupid magnet!" Makes me think of a Spongebob meme.

Scrappy is definitely the most powerful character in the demo, he's a little weak to high damage attacks in the early game but if you get enough war hammers or metal shields the game basically plays itself. Even without all you need is a lot of metal items and you can just kill everything before they can hit you.
The vampire and the business man are also pretty good but you have to put a lot more effort into playing into their strengths.
In later game with Hand of Midas+ you can remove most of the large items and go with Gold Daggers+...
@@InternetGravedigger had some scaling with gold on the vampire. On floor 25 I sold everything but a single Gold dagger. Had roughly 5k gold. The dagger shot 3 times at the beginning of every turn, practically one shotting any fight.
Quick backstory of this game
The character we play as, Sir Bunalot, gambled away his coins and his hand, which is why he has a claw on on one arm.

Rather than sword (or most other large items) make sure you have Hand of Midas and a few Gold Daggers... absurd damage! Even better, remove all the wood shields too... not like anything survives long enough to hit you...
@@InternetGravedigger You know what item pairs quite well with a coin build? The credit card! Once you got a few of them, and are collecting enough coins to pay for the card, they get crazy strong after a few fights!!
Golden Daggers are WAY better with the gold build. They scale so hard late game.
@@lajawi. Unless they changed something, credit card can still ramp even if you have no money... it just puts you in debt. But gold daggers are at least magnetic.
You can get something going really good with magnets, but you need to definitely draw a limit. If you have too many Magnet +'s in your deck, you'll quite literally maim yourself with stuff not falling down the chute because they're stuck to the magnet + that's being attracted to 3 other magnet +'s on the other side of the chute and no claw is strong enough to pull any of those other 3 magnet +'s out of the way.
Picky is okay, but it's best if you also match it with Magic Mirror. Magic Mirror doubles the first item used in a turn, so if you had the gold body armor and only picked up that, it'd be applied 3 times, meaning you'd get 15 block the next turn. Have 2 of them and only pick up those, you got 25 block by turn 2. Doesn't help you on turn 1, but you can see the real magic behind that synergy.
Pincushion is best matched with Hoarder, Junkjets, and Vampire Fangs. All of those can be stacked, meaning you can get them multiple times to amplify their effects, and it basically becomes a time bomb for the enemy. They deal damage to you, something will be put into the machine and Junkjets will damage them for every new item put in the machine (sans the initial machine loading at the beginning of the round.) Vampire Fangs will heal you for every time you deal damage, so on par with Junkjets, and then after the enemy's turn is up, Hoarder just ruin's their day. Hoarder allows you to have up to 10 more items in your machine for each Hoarder perk you have. So I had one time where I had 3 Hoarders, 4 Junkjets, 4 Vampire Fangs, and 2 Pincushions and it became less of a claw machine gimmicked dungeon turn based game and more of a challenge for the enemy to get to attack a third time. 30 items dumped in and 120 damage spread to enemies in increments of 4 while I healed 4 back 30 times. It's a brutal combo once you set it up. After that, you really only need to worry about blocking to survive until the machine restocks.
Biggest mistake in the video is missing the golden armor. I got 5 stacks of that in one of my runs, and then got 1 hp for every coin I had
Getting 5 stacks of gold armor is pretty lucky, but for only beating the first 6 floors not saving the money is more fun than hoarding it all
@lamps4044 to be fair, I wanted to see how far I could get with the money build... I'm at floor 25 and have most of the perks unlocked. Its not even a challenge if you get the right equipment. The only thing you have to fear is the boss mothaniel.
Fun Fact: Eugène Hénard (the man who invented the roundabout) was an architect. Something doesn't add up.
I mean that is an architects job, design things that are less functional and look better
This video was a little bit over edited in my opinion. Part of the game is watching all the items doing the damage, and that was skipped over almost every time. I’m usually a big fan of your editors, but this one was a miss for me.
While I honestly think I would prefer watching the video with less pointless cuts, I also understand that they are probably doing it because the CZcams algorithm does not like long videos, so they try to make it shorter without sacrificing content.

Its a 30min video. It could be at least a 3 series videos of ~16min without all the cuts
@@thef0li27 it's a funny thing, last time I checked youtube pays for watch time, so the algorithm does favor short videos (so they pay less) but if you make a longer video that people do watch, you get way more money. There's a certain irish man I follow that only uploads 1h+ videos and as far as I'm aware that's all his income

I beat a run of the demo using the vampire, went really well, with the perk which makes each item added damage all enemies by 1, magnets and shrink rays so you can grab more at once, you can do a lot of damage while healing as well. Makes the knives you start off with really useful since you regain 10% damage dealt with a minimum of 1, so lots of small damage is better.
Only an architect would call a nut a bolt.
“Oh no, explodes at the start of enemies turn and deals 50 damage to the player, is that 50 damage to me, or to itself?” Matt is a special kind of special
Before you drop the magnet give it a wiggle so it swings and grabs more. Drop it a bit left of big clumps, so they're on the right side of the magnet and fall into the hole instead of getting rejected.
There was a perk in the first video that allowed you to keep any unused block, instead of losing it at the end of each turn. Couple that with a few stacks of the body armor and you should eventually generate block faster than you use it. Then couple it with the helmet that doubles the amount of block you have and it should go through the roof!

When ya do that set up, use the claw magnet to the left of what you want to pick up instead of straight down. More chance of it going in the hole
16:35 When trying to pick an item from the top of a stack, you do not need to allow the claw to drop all the way. You can stop it at any time during its descent and it will close where ever you stopped it dropping.

If you only pick up the big sword or big shield it gives u double i stead of normal
Managed to make a broken combo with Scrappy:
- 1 Magnet+, not more to prevent Magnet shenanigans
- 2 Hand of Midas+, so all fluff should get turned to 'gold'
- 5 Golden Dagger+, as our source of damage
- 11 Brass Knuckles+ as Evasion is infinitely scaling defense and that basically means 'dodge 22 attacks'.
Matt, the sword will nearly always fall back into the item pool rather than the shoot if it is attached to the left side of the magnet. If possible, I'd recommend trying to catch it more in the right side (i see the pools haven't exactly made that too viable tho so do whatcha do)

what i did when i had the magnet claw is removed shields and added daggers (I also ended up with a ton of golden daggers)
Saw your last vid and had to try it. SUPER addictive. Try a high damage hoarder vampire next! No shields, all attack.

Does the fluff really get in the way? It looks like it stops things from falling out of the claw as it grabs and lifts, especially if there is a piece in the claw.

I really like watching this game, but basically the entire game was edited out of this video. Kinda felt like this in the last one too. You dont get to see any of the combat or anything because it gets cropped out every time or just skipped.

The big shield doubles its shielding if picked up alone. Picking up the big shield and a little shield at once is actually worse than picking up the big shield by itself.

the real probleme with magnets is that at a certain point when you have to much of them there is just too much item trying to fall and none do they all finish up stuck

hand of midus continues to transform any fluff which comes near it, removing it removes it for that battle so obviously try not to. Instead use the magnet far enough to either side to grab the coins. There is a max number of items at once in the container and I think both fluff and coins count to that number.

Been playing the game for a bit and everything else feels kinda lackluster.
I've been having a lot of success with dolly and self damage. With berserker and thermometers you scale really fast.
