@Amazing Edits exactly, the guy does well enough for the majority of roles he got into, casual comedy, scifi, action thriller, I never noticed him much outside the guardians but after The Terminal List and read about how much works and training he put into that show, he really impressed me

The rumor is that the script initially was going to have the Mario Bros as bumbling schmucks who just happened to mesh with Peach's plans to thwart Bowser. Nintendo vetoed that and was prepared to walk away entirely if the script was not heavily rewritten to their explicit satisfaction. The film is, as it is supposedly, because Japan flatly refused to give Hollywood an inch over the ip.

@@PracticallyBlind I personally couldn't care less about watching a movie adapted from a videogame whose central appeal and concept stems from the primary game loop (not a story). As a result of this, my hope and expectations was for the videogame character to be voiced either purely through sound-bytes (as a joke) and otherwise being a silent protagonist. If not, the very least they could have done was give him the voice range he has in the videogames.
A second point is, I really dislike how actors get recruited for how handsome or well known they are. I understand why this is inevitable and logical, but it is also why I don't care for movies and get disappointed whenever something I like gets milked for hollywood money.
In the end, I wouldn't watch the Mario movie either way (I just like to complain for fun) and think it is odd that people made a big deal out of Sonic's first character design when those hypocrites don't care about handsome human eggman. Apparently, people just love handsome actors to play humanoid character roles, and I will never get to see CGI Eggman :(

I've been subscribed to flashgitz for so long that I can pretty much tell the "Surprise" or "twist." I knew at least one character was getting fake boobs and was pretty positive that mario eventually had to "please" the casting guy to get the part. Im not disappointed at all.
