Hellcat Stage Kits are Finally Here! This is How it Works!

- Dodge recently announced that the Hellcat Stage Kits have finally been fully carb approved and will be arriving at dealerships soon. I have important details as to which kits will be coming out and when. I also touch on exactly how they work and how much power each kit makes. Finally, a way to increase your power and keep your factory warranty. What do you think about the Hellcat Stage kits?

Great info Racerx and I’m happy for the Dodge owners out there. Gotta be nice to feel some love from the manufacturer
Great Video! Very cool that you are a Central Florida CZcamsr!
Please when direct connection does have the kits for our 392 post a new video letting everyone know and what will the HP be ,thanks.
This is a smart move from Dodge. It adds value to the purchase of applicable vehicles. I mean, who doesn't want more power? With an applicable warranty, no less? Direct connection. Hooking people up!
Glad to see this! Still have to search although subscribed.
Good stuff buddy! BUT this CARB compliant stuff we should put an end to not vindicate their authority by delaying products release until "certified" Al
Jeez I wish I could afford to buy a red-eye! What a time to be alive.
SIDENOTE: I noticed you are wearing a nice button down “Mopar Direct Connect” shirt.
Is RacerX coming back to Dodge?? Showing some brand loyalty?? 😄. Love your Dodge content. Keep it up. 👍🏻
Racer X, love the content!! By any chance are you aware of the 2020 challenger redeye 1st to 2nd gear shifting hiccup?? I'm wondering if this tuner will eliminate this issue that seems like every 2020 and newer redeyes are having. Would love to pick your brain on this topic
Great video! something to think about I have the 2019 challenger hellcat🤔
Hopefully, it can be retrofitted to work on my '85 Dodge Aries K
Great job X. Would love to see Dodge put out stage kits for the 5.7 since they take mods so well. And there are a lot more of them on the roads
I wonder if you could add direct connection to anything with the hellcat engine? (Trackhawk,Durango,TRX)
Racer X does it again.
The stage kit is the run of the mill diablo. I went ahead and did hp tuners....dyno checked at 845 chp. Courtesy of our friends in Virginia. Also, duel fuel pump and 1000 cc injectors and cooler thermo and plugs and pullys raising smush to 14.5 lbs. MY first run I had to fish out my nuts from my pelvis.
Talked with my local Dodge parts dealer today. He told me the pre-stage/stage 2 kit for my 22 Super Stock is on the way. Hope to schedule the install later this week.
Let me know..I have a demon.
I agree I need to find a broker for my SuperStock
I was wondering if the redeye kits worked for the ss’ but I’m gonna hold off til tht stage 3 comes out for them.
Pre-Stage/Stage 2 kits have officially been installed on my 2022 Super Stock. BlueBonnet CDJR has done 5 installs in the past week. On the list for Stage 3 kit if/when available.
@@keithmcnease4297 have you drove it yet?
Hopefully us 392 boys get blessed. I’ll take a little bump to 500hp and I’m golden
Hopefully the RT boys get a kit too
You do great work 👏
Racer! Question for ya, kind have settled on either a 392 charger or a dark horse mustang. My dealer I go to now can order either one but wasnt sure what would to go for. Was kind of curious as to what one you'd recommend?
I think you should pick up that 20 redeye and start doing stuff with it for the channel!!!😎
Can you do a video on what the stage kit for the 392 would intel? Being that you said the 392 engine is already optimized from the factory
i'm going tomorrow morning, yes May 1 to my dealer to install the stages. i own 2021 dodge hellcat redeye widebody. i know you need the pre stage, but do i need to get stage 1 AND 2, or go starlight to stage 2. i believe i get the pre stage and stage 2, and skip stage 1, correct? or will i miss anything by not getting stage 1? thanks in advance
Do they give a price for install, or does that price include install
Looking at getting a Jailbreak Challenger. Would these work on it? Great price for the performance.
I guess i still have a couple months before 2023 end before kit would be available hopefully. 23 hellcat jailbreak i have
I would not expect much from the 392 unless they come out with a stage kit that includes forged pistons.
@RacerX ? Anything yet on those stage kits for us scat pack 392 owners
Should be picking up my 2023 1320 next week. First thing to do is remove the stock drag radials and replace with good street tires, probably all seasons type. Do you have any recommendations? Don't want to spend a boat load as this new Scat is being paid in full and funds will be a bit strained! What do you use on your Scat? Thanks.
What about the Super Stock Challengers, is that a separate kit too ?
It's the last year we're making v8s. Well let you get stage kits now!
Where do you get the 100 octane fuel? Does the car run on E85?
I'm getting a 2022 dodge challenger widebody red-eye jailbreak so will I be able to get the stage kits for that car?
Hey Paul, as usual my comments are far between. I’ve been chomping at the bit with anticipation for these stage kits to become CARB compliant. Literally the weekend before they became available I had my Hellcat serviced and answered the dealership survey experience with the comment “forget about CARB compliance, we owners could care less about CARB”. Then boom! Available, LoL.
Anyway, I have a serious question you would be the best to ask. Stage 1 for my Hellcat, or nitrous? If I invest in a second intake with a nitrous injector I can avoid voiding the warranty? Also, it’s power for the weekend warrior, not always on. Is the stock computer able to adjust for nitrous? Or, Stage 1 AND nitrous? I appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to get out there to find the info we all wish we had time to get. As always, thanks and stay safe brother.
That's super dope.
give the 5.7 some love
Hey RACER X - Any news on the rumor that Hellcats will be offered with a manual again for the last half of ‘23?
@9:53 why don’t they just leave California out the mix for now, and figure out a workaround for them afterwards?
Just talked to a DC dealer WRT my 2021 Redeye about getting a pre stage and stage II kit. Will be approximately $5300 for both when factoring in labor...
I’m late but labor was supposed to be included.
I’m interested in the 392 stage kits…hopefully they materialize.
Yup, me too. If not I will probably go with Southwest Speed.
Can't see them offering much.
Stage 1 - Mopar cold air intake and catback exhaust.
Stage 2 - above plus 180° thermostat with 93 octane tune and transmission tune.
Stage 3 - camshaft, ported intake manifold? I doubt it
@T/A TUDE since they partnered with ARH I'm hoping a custom tune and headers will be part of the stage kits
@@brewaire doubt the stage 3 lmao dodge isn't that cool
@@FLYxxBOY that would be a dream come true
Excited to see what they come out with for the 392 and would like to hear your predictions on what the stages or gonna be for 392 think that would be an interesting video for all the 392 and 1320 guys !!
We get nothing 💯
That would be messed up
If they give us a stage kit push up to 580 hp that would be perfect and I’m ready for it
Sadly it's going to be a while. And maybe boost us to 500hp even. Which to me is fine
It’s there. Check DC performance. I think stage 2 kits get you 600whp.
Can you get a stage 2 kit and keep your LMI aftermarket intake?
are these only for hellcats or how bout scatpack 392's stage kits?
What do they have for the 2023 Durango hellcat?
Does Dodge have to install it for warranty to be void?
I’d rather spend the extra money for a Forza stage 4R upgrade, which adds 1000HP with suspension upgrades to handle the extra power which is a must.
True, that’s from Tim Kuniskis. It doesn’t seem to make sense since the engines are identical. But that is the current stance by Dodge.
1000 total...
I know this was a month ago and maybe I am too late. How many people read the instructions on the stage 2 or hellcat stage 1. It tells you that you need tools that were not automatically shipped, and hardware and gasket kits to complete the upgrade. Guess what is on backorder. So now I just got in the main gasket kits for the redeye and still waiting for the hellcat kits and various hardware. Oh and I ordered them right around the time of this video.
Oh yeah, still waiting on the tools.
Is anyone aware that slim body challenger hellcats dyno at the wheel 30+ more hp then the wide body ? I’m wondering with a stage 1 kit would that make them faster then a wide body red eye 🤔?
Is it a TBA date for Durango hellcat ?
Anything for the Super Stock?
Hope the come out w kits for the scat and rt hopefully bare minimum the tuner
Has anyone had these installed yet? I’m still waiting and no update on shipping status. What install labor quotes are dealers telling owners? Mine is saying 9 hrs to change a pully and install air filter???
What is the dealership charging for the installation
Yeah beware cause I had the stage 2 kit installed by a power broker on my challenger Redeye and a week after installing the supercharger stopped putting out any boost. Now my car has been at the dealer going on 3 weeks and they’ve been going back and forth with engineers to figure out a solution. Seems to be the pulley. 2 failed pulleys in a row and now they are going to put the stock pulley back on cause they can’t figure out the root cause of the problem. Just be prepared that you may have issues after installation.
What about the TRX?
Hey RacerX! Awesome video 🤞🏾do they sell their cars at MSRP or do they have markups?
Any chance the Jeep Trackhawk will get a Stage Kit?
Think there will be a 18” demon kit ?
The stages are basically pulley , intake and maybe TB , you will get another extra 100 hp nothing too big
They include a reflashed ecu too.
A hundred horses can drop you up to a full second at the 1/4 mile strip
So are they gonna make stage kits for the 392
Remember the Scat Pack stages back in 2016. They were factory direct packages for the 392 and 5.7... Dodge also claimed that those stages would not void the warranty, but my local dealer told me flat out that even with the stage kits, changing any internals on the OEM engine would result in denied warranty claims. In other words, the warranty is not voided but broken engine parts due to failed aftermarket components of any kind would not be covered under warranty repairs. Also, be fully aware that the cost of the kits do not include labor to have them installed.
Great information. Thanks bud! Now I’m not even sure if I want to do it for my hellcat Durango (if they ever make it available).
This will last a few months then Dodge will stop selling the staged kits. They did same thing with the SRT-4 staged kits. Once Dodge stops selling the gasoline powered hellcats they will stop selling the kits.
I think dodge will continue to sell the stage kits because the platform is bigger than the srt4(badass) ....This is how they are going to please the fan base while they switch to electric....There has been talk about a stage 3 kit as well....
Wrong
I wonder if you put higher octane in the Scat would it up the power?
HA I bought a skittle from Dodge and had stage 2 with toys 😂. The IC sprayer & ECU was legit tho!
@@csanders3287shell v-power is the best
Are they gonna make them for rt ?
I doubt that the 392’s will gain much, if and when they have kits for it. Unless they’re offering a cam, head parts and headers.
So maybe I missed this whole part but what is the install labor? I feel like that's always where they stick it to us. Otherwise almost sounds to good to be true.
I got added to the list to do the stage one on my Hellcat (717hp) and it's 2 hours of labor so the pre stage, stage one, and labor is around 2500 at my dealer
Hopefully they don’t forget about the Durango srt and hellcats
That’s what I’m saying……have you heard anything yet?
Won't see them for the Durango or TrackHawk 😢They took way to long to get them out and warranty would be gone before I would even get it done. Pretty much limits the appeal to the last couple of model years and only Challengers at the moment. If you don't have warranty left it's a really tough sell given the price.
U can extend a factory warranty through dodge.
They have them for us charger boy’s, but man I wish I could afford a hellcat Durango
do getting the upgrades through dodge allow it to be able to reflect on the dodge performance pages where it says POWER: xxx HP
Yup.
@@Megatron797 would definitely love to see that
Would love to see rt kits like this too. I voided my warranty 🫠 so it won’t help me but still would be nice to see.
Do you need 88 more hp in one of those cars?
So, I have a 22 jailbreak Redeye, stock it is 807hp, what will stage two do for it?
Same 885 - there's nothing special about your jailbreak and it having an alleged 10 HP over the "normal" redeye - it's a tune change just like the 717 they started to do for normal hellcats - same engine, same internals, same everything lol..the tune that brings it to 807 would be replaced by the tune that pushes to 885 with the added components of the kit (and race gas)
How about us with the hellcat redeye jailbreak charger 😢 with 807 hp do we get this pakage
Yes it’s coming
How much power do you think the stage kits for the scatpacks will add? I have a 2020 scatpack widebody.
I had diablo and hemi fever tune....I got almost 70 hp in winter. I never tried the fuel pumps , wish I had. On my shaker scat 6.4. I miss that car.
well be lucky to get 500 crank. if they add long tubes then maybe we can hit 520 with intake throttle body and tune
Mopar or no car! Unless it’s a Chevy 😅. (Man I love those Hellcats tho)
I need this tune on my SRT 392😫
Will this work on 2023?
🏆Racer x 🏆 🍀got R done😎✌️
What about the r/t guys
Does anyone know if it will get rid of the hiccup between shifts?
If it does dodge needs to give me the pre stage kit for free
Never mind got answer.
Direct Connection just told me all stage kits are released for Challengers and Chargers. Shipping out this week. Interesting you were told the Chargers are later.
They don’t have a date for being delivered to dealerships to be installed so until then it will say TBD and chargers says in June
@@BlackEyeSRT confirmed today. They are already shipping for both Challengers and Chargers. Supply chain is lower for tge Charger variant, but is expected to pick up moving forward. Straight from DC in Michigan anyway.
@@01messer1 awesome brotha I appreciate you giving us the update imma take a look into what my dealer can get thank you
@@BlackEyeSRT sounds like Chargers will be slim pickings for a minute, but should take of shortly. Catalog won't be updated until more hit the docks. Good luck and happy hunting. Just happy they are at least moving now.
Will they make any for the older srt8 chargers?
HOPEFULLY REDEYE STAGE 3 TBD WILL ADD E85 CONVERSION FLEX FUEL OPTION N OVER 950HP. IVE BEN ASKING 3 POWERBROKER DEALORSHIPS IN CALI FOR OVA 12MONTHS ON THESE REDEYE STAGE KITS,,,FINALLY GOT PASS CALI CARB CERTIFICATIONS🤣👍💯🎯 CANT WAIT 2 SEE WHATS REDEYE STAGE 3💯🎯🦾
Hopefully there isn’t a markup on Stage Kits, once the customer list starts backing up lol
Want a stage kit for my 2021 Dodge Charger R/T Plus. It has a HEMI engine V8.
Would love to just have 400 HP as 370 HP is good but just 30 more HP would be great. Speaking of gas, I can get 93 octane but it has up to 10% ethanol. I want 94 octane or better and NO ethanol added!!!!!!!!!
I think its a great idea.. BUT.. its so damn expensive for not a huge jump in power… drive the damn thing 36,000mi stock. Then give er the beans! Pulleys, tune and such and make 1000+ HP for a much better price! I see a huge cash grab on the Direct Connection.. not a fan
HAS ANYONE found a set of front runners for the 23 Hellcat with Brembos? I HATE the wide front wheels on my Cat.
When is stage 3 coming out for Redeye. I rather wait and get prestage and jump to stage 3.
Not sure .. that one is TBD
How different is the redeye from the hellcat? Because I was thinking if you upgraded to the same parts then can’t you use those stage kits instead?
red eye is the demon engine they’re quite different
What I’m trying to say is if you upgrade a Hellcat to Redeye (or other) parts then can you use their stage kits instead? I’m wondering because many people modify their cars to improve performance.
Bingo
Modern muscle tune and injectors , fuel delivery and more smashed air....845 hp crank. Badda bing....Badda boom!
Different engine, pistons, drive train (shaft, differential and MAYbe axels). Stronger and able to handle more boost. Better sway bars too.
Pretty sure there are more RT/Scatpacks out there than hellcats. By like a lot! Wouldn’t it be smarter to put something out for the larger crowd?🤔
It takes more parts, money and effort to make more power out of those N/A cars compared to the supercharged models.
@@sleepy_ipl exactly! Dodge would make significantly more off of the NA crowd.
Your wrong hellcat stage 1 tune and pulley 757 is on 93 octane. Boost is going up from 11.6 psi to 13.6 psi. Yes on the redeye going from 14.5 psi to 16.5 psi you need 100 octane. Just think about it Racer X. If a Redeye can make 797 807 hp on 93 octane fuel. At 14.5 psi. Boost. I guarantee you a hellcat at 13.6 psi boost 757 can be attained with 93 octane.
What about the RAM TRX? Will it get stage kits, too?
It’s not likely based on what I see
@@RacerX9 That sucks for us TRX owners. Maybe someday 🤞🤞 Thanks for the reply.
Wonder if they'll ever offer scatpack stage kits.
Yes they are coming
@@RacerX9 Do you know what the stage kits for the scatpack consist of?
Probably stuff that doesn’t really do anything for the 392 because we all know the 392 is close to factory perfection.
@@williamrose7184 you can tune, cam, headers and get a decent amount of hp. Just expensive
Dodge hates the scatty guys for some reason....only thing that matters to them are the fkn hellcats...
The reason why they finally got these stage kits now is because they can't sell those over sticker hellcats. They need 💰 😂
They’re still selling like hot cakes, what are you talking about 😂🤡💀
Dodge makes nothing from over sticker sales... Why do people have such dumb takes?
@@obungapyramid5525 yea used
@@terricandelaria3766 did I say dodge?🤔
@@obungapyramid5525 naaa the 2023's sitting on lots ma boy
Any new videos coming out on your mustang?
Yes but I’m waiting on some parts to show up
Well my hellcat jailbreak I ordered is not even built yet 😂
will the base models get this too?
What about the superstock and demon challengers.
I want to know why the stage kits don't void the factory warranty, but void the extended warranty.
So I got a 2022 challenger super stock it should work fine right how much horsepower would I have if I add the stage 2 kit I’m already at 807 now
Predictions on Stage Kits for all us 392 folks? Stage-1, Stage-2, maybe a Stage-3? Pre-stage kit? Recognizing that the 392 cars are pretty well optimized in bone stock form. Hopefully, a Stage-1 would deliver at a minimum at least 25-30 more HP & Torque. A Stage-2 at least 50-55 more. Stage-3 at least 75-80 more. These are modest but noticeably felt increases for these 392 cars with emissions legal and warranty retained.
Hmmmm...a Stage-4 Track-only (forged pistons, upgraded rods, upgraded cam/heads, more?)?
