Thanks for posting. I was about to purchase a used 2016 Nissan with 41k miles as it looked like a good deal, but was afraid of the CVT since it is not too common. This video and comments confirmed my fear and I will pass on the car. My advice to you is to always wear eye protection and gloves.
You could make a pretty penny if you show more of that aesthetically pleasing mechanic helper of yours. She has an incredibly symmetrical face and bold features that could blow this channel up.
Mr Allen and Assistant, Thank you for posting this "how-to" vid. I was unfortunate to have been stuck with a 2014 Sentra with a CVT. Bought it used last year and added 60K miles so far. Had the alternator pulley give out and it tore out the belt. Had it repaired at a shop in Baker, CA on my way back from Vegas. The problem now, after replacing the alternator is, the idle speed. It hovers around 750 but dips or rises 250rpm above and below the 750. When it dips the brake and battery lights randomly flash. Also, can you feature a video with step by step on how to completely drain and refill the tranny oil? The dealer charges about $300 but they do use about 14 quarts which is the required amount for a complete drain and fill. Thank you in advance.
Hello friends! I'm watching the video of your work here from Brazil. I found it very interesting to replace all CVT exchange. I wonder if it is possible to repair this type of exchange instead of replacing it? Here in Brazil it is common repair in Automatic exchange, But I only knew this practice in TipTronics. Paul Myson I replaced the transmission a few months ago and car running normal so far. Great independent Nissan repair shop here in Pomona ca. Dealer only wants to put you in a new car and not interested in repairing their horrible transmissions.
@@Alexinpomona , what did they charge you for parts (transmission) and labor? Also, was the transmission brand new? My Sentra 2014 SV transmission failed at 40K miles. It was repaired under manufacturer's warranty, so it did not cost me anything out of pocket. But now, I'm scared to hold on to this car since I only have 12 months left on the manufacturer warranty. If it fails again, my car will be worth junk! If I keep it, I would need to find out if it's semi-affordable to fix it (say, under $2K for parts+labor). Otherwise, I just have to cut my loses with this POS car.
Enrique Garcia well we weren’t as fortunate as you. We forked out 3200 for installation of a rebuild transmission with a 12 k warranty. 3 months later our shifter went bad. is very sad how mechanics take advantage of people that don't know and replace a perfectly working transmission and install another used transmission or a new one when all it needed was a good atf flush and install a better transmission oil cooler, then they sell your transmission for $1500 ,when the vehicle don't move or drive or transmission is making noises all it needs is the transmission fluid change, I know people that drive Nissan with 200+ miles and they never replace the transmission from factory a simple reading will help you save from 1k to 4k

Transmissions are pretty much the same. Been in the trade for some time and never seen a fluid change fix a fucking thing.
No...you have to take the starter out....there is also no access hole to unscrew the torque converter ...you can only do it through the starter opening...that is the worst part.....love how he skipped right over that and having to line up the studs on the torque converter to fly wheel when reinstalling....he also removed the radiator but didn't show that either......I'm doing one of these today and I'm 8 hrs in and still have to put everything back together.....
