Hi Cameron, Nice job! I have a '77 Starcraft American 16 BR with a '76 Johnson 85. Boat's in great shape--I bought used a few years ago in Vermont. Barn find. It's been fun buzzing around in it, but I'm thinking that I might like to make it into more of a fishing boat--maybe change out the seats and reconfigure the interior to hold rods and gear a little more efficiently. So, I'm wondering...did you remove the deck or just replace the carpet? If you did remove the deck, can you give me an idea of the stringer pattern? Any pix? Thanks! M.
I’m not trying to insult you or say you’re wrong, but are you sure that’s a 1978 Starcraft? Reason why I ask is because I have a 1972 Starcraft american15 and they only used that particular windshield for the 1972 and I think 1973 American series boats. After that they went to the square 3 piece windshields.
Cameron Stone interesting, mine didn’t even have a serial number or a hull number anywhere on it, I had to have one made when I got it registered lol. Maybe someone along the way put that windshield on, nice boat though man.
Cameron Stone I know. My boat was built before they started putting serial numbers or VIN on them. I even had a state official look for it and that’s what he told me. So I had to fill out a paper with the specs and whatnot and they sent me a little sticker placard thing in the mail to put on the hull.
very sharp!
Very nice
Did you have to do any transom repairs? I have a 1974 15' starcraft american that has some transom rot. Any advice would be appreciated

Cameron Stone my boat is a 1972, but was built in 1971 and they didn’t require HIN until 1972.
