A butterfly knife, also known as a Balisong, fan knife or Batangas knife, is a type of folding pocketknife that originated in the Philippines. Its distinct features are two handles counter-rotating around the tang such that, when closed, the blade is concealed within grooves in the handles.
I just barely bought my first Balisong this week, so I don't understand the technical stuff, but your collection and channel are both pretty cool. I'm gonna have a lot of fun checking it out :D Can't wait to find more cool stuff about the community and knives

I'm currently using the spring from my brothers banshee v2 which seems to hold the latch out of the way better then the original. Awesome video!

I'm trying to start my own balisong collection I just love the unique designs of the knives. I currently have this balisong knife 6:05 (the silver one) and my very first balisong knife owning and I cherish it my dad gave it to me a few years ago and I loved it ever since and it got me into trying to start my own balisong collection. Btw in reference to the Lucha, I have the updated Flyti handles and it feels so much nicer. The grip is great now and it really helps with Z-Chokers which I'd say is a weak point for the original Flyti Lucha

A Balisong blade was used to be valued by how many lives it took. It serves like an heirloom passed down the family, a relative, or to a friend. Especially after the crime was committed in order to hide the murder weapon. So to speak, the more people who died from it, the more it is considered valuable. Balisongs are definitely the most beautiful cleverly designed knife but with a gruesome history not everyone is aware of. Glad to know, that dreadful impression is now gone and it is considered as a collectible item around the world. 💪

I feel that I'm a strange case where I started as a balisong person that transitioned to normal folding knives as more my interest but I like how Will says he uses his knives for normal things. I'm not deep into the balisong community but it largely seems the interest is driven away from things like cutting performance and blade steels and more aimed at the action alone but I like how Will is still really appreciative of blade grind and occasionally steel. No hate to either side of the same family really but the priorities are set different but I think both can see where the other comes from and appreciates those aspects in addition to those more concerning to their side. I hope that makes sense to other readers
I absolutely agree and feel you. I love flipping and playing with them and all that but I do use my balisongs was knives to cut stuff so I do appreciate a good blade steal, grind, finish and all that.
Bro you need to have a traditional, original Filipino balisong. The og is the most beautiful balisong i've ever seen, the craftsmanship and handwork on it is awesome, it feels tribal and somewhat elegant. Very different than the modern balisong.

Balisong is a real work of art used for self defense in knife fighting sort of like a form of martial arts weapon in the philippines sometimes called bente nueve this comes with different sizes and design truly a genius worksmanship concealed weapon that some dont understand the real value of it, a traditional ancestors tool passed down to next gen.

You have to have the original balisong from Batangas with handle made from carabao horn and brass. It’s also known as bente nueve or veinte nueve (29) which was its standard length in centimeters.
Damn, I love the "trash" Tsunami. I love stuff like that. Some of my favorite bikes I've built, were done in a similar way (pulling discarded stuff from parts bins). It would rule if they did some sort of lottery for them to 'clear out the trash ;)'. Like...sign me UP. :)

Hello, I am a relatively new but also somewhat experienced balisong (trainer) flipper to the point where I am ready to start paying a little bit more to get the good stuff. I was wondering if you could recommend a balisong trainer preferably within the range of 100-150$ or less that you think is just an overall good balisong that can take a beating considering that I don't normally have the money to buy one. If there are any that you think would be worth spending a little bit more then I would appreciate the mention.
