Generational talent. His skillset is so unique, we are probably looking at the best player of the 2020's in his pre prime rn who will still be very much in his prime in 2030. You might not see another player like him for a very long time, he's already great but he is nowhere near his ceiling yet.

what i probably like most about him is seeing how much his teammates enjoy playing with him. he was basically handed over a team in his rookie year and, perhaps with the exception of smith jr, everyone was ok with that. just tells you how good he really is

dunno about that. when they played together deandre seemed like he found new joy in playing bb. he and luka played so well together, i was really disappointed he was included in the kp trade + he was always encouraging luka. could be all that was for the cameras but i don't think so...
@@tolstoyed I don't know, I remember lots of fastbreaks killed by DeAndre because he was looking for his boy instead of passing it to wide open Luka. If Dallas had a better (merciless) coach, they'd be in playoffs one year earlier.
@@robertj9511 yea, early on for sure, but once he figured what luka is about, they played of each other a lot and it was well fun to watch. mavs need a strong forward like that imo. i love kp and maxi but they just aren't physically strong enough for the toughest opponents. powell is stronger but not jordan strong...

But yeah, he's the steal of the draft... while being drafted 3rd overall. One could argue the Suns made a mistake in not taking Luka even though Ayton was a surefire pick

Early prediction here from a stingy-defense Clippers fan. After watching Luka continue to flourish this season, and seeing him show up in the playoffs against the favourites, I'm confident he will be MVP next season, and for many years to come. He is the ultimate trickster. His brain works faster than his opponent's, his basketball maturity is that of an old sage, his vision is absurd, his passing is already other-worldly, he's a consistent step-back 3 away from being unguardable, and once he's nailed that (and he will), and if he can stay injury free, I'm confident he will go down as the GOAT when it's all said and done.
