One thing that nobody talks about is that Luka is known for going left for the step back.
That's why Gobert committed so hard when Luka dribbled left and when Luka went back to his right he couldn't recover.
Luka has almost everything in his bag.
This takes so much work and talent and big personality to be able to successfully implement those things in a real game, and especially in a WCF final!

True, thought his step back here was unnatural, looks like he took an extra step to adjust but still clutched.
Agreed on the move to the Left, but when Rudy lost it is when he took a 1/2 step back toward the lane. He bit on the fake drive and that's what got Luka space. Huge mistake because the thing Minnesota wants most in that situation is an injured Luka driving into McDaniels and Edwards with 3 seconds on the clock. Watch that overhead view and you see just how far back Rudy stepped and not only did it mess up his footwork beyond what he could recover from, he actually partially turned away from Luka and had to waste time turning back. Huge mistake....
That crowd was so hyped during that game before that 3, I love it.
It made me want to do the cartman and lick the tears when they were so hype and then crying all of a sudden when he hit it !!!

The Wolves have been avoiding switches all the game, to prevent what happened here. It's weird that in the last possession they've allowed a switch. I suppose McDaniels was aware what was about to happen.

We’ve see lengthy defenders like McDaniels try to stay in front of him but Luka outweighs them by like 25-30 pounds. And he’s outclassed shifty perimeter defenders like Marcus smart hitting a game winner over him two other people closing out for the contest. And i’ve now seen him hit a game winner over a 4x DPOY 7 footer. I knew Luka prayed and hoped for the switch on Gobert cause he loves cooking him, i’ve seen it plenty of times to know he favors that switch. But this was just world class. So in Gobert defense the high five was much needed. Just for the A for effort.

I really loved that on the floor cam facing Luka. You could really get a feel for how bad Rudy's footwork was. You know, if he had conceded the drive (into 2 defenders), he could have stayed there with his hand up and Luka's not quick enough to get away right now. He never gets that look without Rudy giving ground to stop a drive that AT WORST ties the game temporarily. You've got to have better situational awareness. But glad he didn't......

If you want to know WHY Luka is the best passer in the game, look at 2:32. I saw it on a different angle but it was confirmed there. He's talking to the guys and getting ready to head to the bench when PJ walks up with his hand extended. Luka NEVER turns his head, but puts his hand out exactly where PJ's hand is because he saw him in his peripheral vision. It's like a lizard able to see behind it.....

As always Luka will always close the critical moments. I just observed in this playoffs that everytime Hardy and Hardaway Jr. is on the court usually the final minutes of 1st quarter and early minutes of 2nd quarter, that's when Mavs opponents start to get the lead until it balloons to double digits. The turnovers of those two players always results into the points of the opposing team. I hope Jason Kidd would recognize it. Let's go Mavs. I'm rooting for you
