    I would like to try on a pair of Wildlings.
    I live in Cambridge UK.
    At home I wear Crocs because I need the width
    I'm 71 and have been wearing Crocs at home
    for 20 years.
    I wear Hotters sandals and boots out. They have changed their toe box.
    Had a open fracture ankle accident 20 years ago and have had orthoptics, very low.
    If only my feet were not so short 5.5, but so wide. If they were longer I could maybe wear a man's trainer.
    Wish I had someone like you after my accident.
    Keep up the good work for this generation.

    I wear the naboso sandals. I quite like them alot. For first time sandal buyers they may be alot of stimulation so don't expect to wear them for an all day walk around sandal if you are not used to it. and I can very much recomend going down about 1 size from your normal shoe. I wear a mens 10 or eu 43 in shoes to give that 1cm to box space. But in sandals you don't need that and are better off getting the toes right up to the edge. which for most is .5 or 1 size smaller then normal shoes

    Love your channel bro! I just switched to barefoot shoes at the beginning of the year and it's been fantastic! Have you ever come across someone who transitioned and developed a tightness in the arch? I was running in my Vivos but switched to Altra's because of it. Still love them for casual wear though.

    • @lanewhite5928
      @lanewhite5928 Před rokem +1

      I started with Altra’s and will be working my way down to a barefoot shoe. Mostly because my toes are seriously scrunched and it looks like I’ve started bunions. So I wanted to work to it slowly. Maybe the tightness is coming from making the switch too fast? Good move to get the Altras and work down

    • @jeffagostinelli_official

      @@lanewhite5928 I think it was an actual injury. I run ultras so my mileage is pretty high. Basically I was doing a half marathon every weekend on trail in the vivos working up to my normal base mileage. • @barefootstrength
      @barefootstrength  Před rokem +3

      They are not the most durable shoes out there. This is mostly due to the soft rubber they use in the sole. The positive being that the sole is extremely flexible and barefoot feeling.
      But, Feelgrounds have improved their durability, by adding stitching around the lip of the soles, which was another failure point in older generations.
      For me it depends on how many steps you will clock in them. For casual casual wearing they are durable enough. But for exercising or long walks, it is better to get a pair of Xeros at this price.

    How about a work boot video. Feel grounds has one and the vivo hiking boot might work for one but how protective the sole is would be a primary concern with a useful work boot. Using a barefoot shoe for work boots may be a risky thing though even if you have the strength and adapted to barefoot shoes. What would be your major concerns with using barefoot boots for physical labor work where steel toe boots are not necessary. Take me for example, I do residential HVAC and I rarely see a construction site and flexibility is often more important than protection since I'm crawling in crawl spaces and attics like a monkey. I'd say flexibility and waterproofing is the most important features I look for. Which is why I buy the cheap waterproof boots from Walmart that after some heavy use they are like socks but still waterproof but not I want no drop soles and toe room and I don't see much option.

    Super thin soles for concrete are nonsense. As daily trainers/sneakers the transitional shoe type with some cushioning in my opinion should work better for the majority of people - who often find themselves standing or walking on concrete. The very thin soles of most barefoot shoes are better to be used occasionally/moderately - unless you live in the middle of the wilderness..
    As for RUNNING on concrete, i would NOT recommend to use super thin soles at all to anyone! Concrete is not a natural environment for human feet, thus LESS, not more groundfeel is needed to stay free of plantar fascitiis, achilles pain and generally injuries. There is no good reason why feet should do all the work in an excessively hard und unforgiving ground (here the barefoot shoe enthusiasm sometimes becomes irrational and people lose focus on human body health and functionality which should include context). This is why "natural running shoes" ( e.g. Altra or Topo Athletic) have combined more padded soles with barefoot shoe characteristics (toebox, flexibility, low or 0-drops) for years now. - E.g. Altra Escalante 2.5 as a daily concrete-capable trainer, Topo MTN racer 2 for trailrunning and the Topo Ultrafly 3 have been working great for me.
    Casual/business shoes with such characteristics (wide toebox, low to 0-drop, but with decent cushioning) do not seem to exist so recommendations welcome!

Sent back the normal which was almost wide enough because of the good tow shape, and waiting for the wide to show up, but they do have some drop. I wonder if they could be resoled into 0-drop?
