remember that arabic is also beneficial for being able to communicate with over 300 million arabic speakers in over 22 different countries. it also allows you to consume the vast body of arabic literature and modern writing. arabic's most important use is as a liturgical language, however that is not its only benefit. you shouldn't be discouraged in learning arabic for fun or for your own reasons then when you learn the language you naturally will be able to use it for religious purposes.
personally as a native arabic speaker and muslim my skills in MSA where deficient i didn't get the motivation to improve my reading and writing until i started researching historical manuscripts which then improved my understanding of the Quran and Hadiths then that improved my language in a cycle.
discouraging people from learning arabic who aren't doing in it for religious reasons is exclusionary and harms us all. the more people learning arabic for any reason the better.

There were way too many but perhaps the story about Qaroon and vanity and some others ... so I can share with people on WhatsApp and maybe then they will listen to the full thing. Salam. My 7 year old son is becoming a Hafiz inshaAllah, he started age 5. He has memorised almost 2 Juzz. He was very passionate about it but recently he has started saying he doesn't want to do Hifz. He is very capable and very bright Allahumma baarik.
I'm not sure if I should keep at it or should I give him a choice. I don't know if this will become forcing.
