    You uploaded this sooner than I thought you would! This is probably my favourite level crossing this side of Kent by quite a margin (despite being so difficult to predict because of the slow and infrequent trains) - it's a very unique LC having no barriers, though that is mostly made up for by how loud the alarms there are. That sure is one wonky red light on the left-hand wigwag there. Nice catch of the Pride of GBRF and some nice end-of-video pictures too. Awesome video! 👍😁

    Lovely to see a bit of my family's farm in this clip. Not been there in 14 months due to Covid. I've only known of 2 casualties on the crossing, 1 our pet peacock 🦚 Jack who was probably showing off to the train and my dad's dog which happened years before I was born and he saw it happen and couldn't stop it, I think she was deaf or blind and thought to train had gone and tried to cross too early.

    • @UKLevelCrossingsChannel
      @UKLevelCrossingsChannel  Před 3 lety +2

      Oh what I mean by mainline is national rail network instead of a heritage railway. You usually see crossings without barriers on quiet freight lines or heritage / miniature railways. Sorry for the confusion but this line really isn't busy, only a couple of trains a day 😉

      Actually i think the UK does not have a lot of non barrier crossings compared to France.... we even have some on high traffic 2 tracks line... and they don't have any lights, that's very dangerous.
      I love UK crossings because you absolutely can't miss them, the lights, the siren are very eye catching... compared to the small french blinking light and bell.

    Like the video and I hope you won't mind me pointing out that this line runs from 'Hoo Junction' which in turn lies between Gravesend and Higham Stations - Hoo Junction is about 7 miles/20 minutes away by road to Hoo. The line serves Thamesport (Isle of Grain) and Brett Aggregates (Cliffe).
