Unfortunately *most* of these airlines are gone now. Such videos always painfully emphasize how the "consolidation in the skies" forced ahead the last two decades.

Aircrafts then: b727, b737, b747, b757, b767, b777, a300, a310, a320, dc9, dc10, md11, md80, md90, l1011, tupolev 154, ilyushin il96, concorde
Aircrafts now: b737, b747, b777, b787, a320, a330, a380
Tupolev, Fokker, Dornier...Much more diversity back then. Nowadays it's boring with Boeing & Airbus dominating the market. Last year when we headed back home from Rhodos the whole apron was filled exclusively with A320s and 737s.....

Pretty much, UK and Germany flock in large numbers. Rhodes is amazing though.
German guests don't cause problems like many others 😉

Whow!! Amazing Rhodos video from 1997 incl my big love 707. I was there in 2005. Just 8 years later, it was already pretty boring stuff there also i remember.. (320, 737.. no real big ones anymore) ..

When was this video shot? I mean over the course of how many days was this filmed? It was 1997 according to the title. I just wanted to know if this was before or after June 6th 1997, the day I graduated high school

I went a Rhodes in the late 80s. I think it about this time the Greeks did not like you filming or taking photographs as they had their Air Force planes at some of these airports. Correct me if I am wrong

Right in that year 1979 a 707 went from Rio to LAX and than making a stop after that flying to Tokyo but 200nm the plane "chrashed" and the investigator didn't find the plane

I would like to know what make of planes I saw that were tri-engine jets, but that were NOT Boeing 727s. Their configuration including T-tail control surfaces were much like the 727, but they are decidedly not 727s. My guess is that they were Russian built. Does anyone know?
