10:42 Tristar L 1011!! Such a variery of planes in the mid and late 90's, nowadays you only see in PMI 90% A320 and 737
It is so boring nowadays with basically only two types of planes... I miss the old fun and loud stuff!
There was such a diversity of planes back in the 90s. Today all passenger aircrafts look the same, with the remaining few Boeing 747s and Airbus A380s being the only exciting exceptions. :/
I know, right? Miki Pav, they all look like tubes of toothpaste now.
this is giving me such childhood holidays nostalgia :(
Amazing what big birds were used on such short distances back then. DC-10 and MD-11 from Germany, 747 from the Netherlands, etc.
The golden years of commercial aviation. The 747-300, DC-10, and Concorde was still flying.
The golden years where from the 70th to the late 80ths
Wow, beautiful! Wanna fly back to this time
yesssssss :-)
Those were the days, colorful liveries as far as the eye could reach. 😍 And nice catch of the 757 Condor "Rizzi Bird". May James Rizzi rest in peace.
Those were the days indeed... now its pretty boring!
This brought back some memories, I seem to remember flying to Palma on Britannia 757's around this sort of time, along with places like Crete, Zakynthos etc
737 200 out of Cyprus with a refuelling stop too, from memory (either that or Skiathos).
747-SP at 19.50 was a beautiful bird, I was privileged to fly with many times in late 1970s and 1980s.
Airtours, Air 2000, Britannia, Flying Colours ... all these British charter airlines that are no more 😕. Abd what a beauty the TriStar was in Caledonian's version of the Landor livery
Most beautiful aircraft in the most classy livery. Caledonian L1011 Lockheed Tristar.
Yeah. It was very distinctive from other tri-holers
Nah it was the ATA Palmtree tristar
This is what you call jet liners back then! Today’s aircraft are very quite for their size and operational use
The BAE 146 was amazing!
A Tristar! 😍😍
New subscriber my friend. Showing my age but how lucky I was to grow up in the age these planes were born. With no internet or videos at this time I looked forward to my next Flight International magazine that brought news and drawings of the new aircraft being manufactured. When Boeing showed plans for the 747 and how vast the factories would have to be it was a revelation. I started work at Rolls Royce in Glasgow where they manufactured parts for the Dart, ( Viscount ), Tyne, ( Vanguard ), Conway, ( VC 10 ) and Spey engines. ( BAC 1-11 and Trident ). In my 4th year of apprenticeship they started producing parts for the RB 211 engine. For aircraft enthusiasts this was a golden age to be around.
Love the A310 in the Hapag-Lloyd livery
ABSOLUTELY brilliant
So glad that there is another video filled with a lot of MD-80s and DC-9s. Really great considering Delta retired both their MD-88 and MD-90s just a few days ago.
That Condor 757 really speeded down really fast!
7:41 ha mcdonald's douglas
You're stood, at the start, where I used to stand when on my hols back in early 70's. That Air Atlantica brings back memories of return flight from Fuerte to Manchester. The cabin crew were something else. Orders were barked where to sit, food tray snatched away as soon as fork went down. Permission to go to the toilet.....
What great memories...flew out of LEPA many years...thanks so much !!
Olha ai, PP-OOO, Brasil representando.
Quite sad to see how many of these companies are no more 🥺🥺
Woooow! Really nice memories!!
Great, didn't want it to end
17:34 - PP-OOO - is very RARE to see a footage of that plane!
The Speedbird 737 regd. G-BNNL at 15:26 crashed as Adam Air flight 574 in 2007 and none of the 102 survived.
Top vídeo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎🍻
Lovely voice announcements.
brings back memories from childhood :D the sound of holidays
I might have flown on that Air Atlanta Icelandic Tristar in about 1996 maybe. Me and my mother were booked on Monarch Airlines I think it might have been, Naples to Gatwick, and we were delayed over 30 hours, put up in a 4 star hotel on the Naples riviera.
Next day a three holer awaits us, very exciting to a 7/8 year old me weaned on _Passenger 57._ It was the first widebody I'd been on and it was definitely an Icelandic jet. It even had mountains stenciled/airbrushed onto the transverse galley bulkheads. And drinking fountains! I'm positive it wasn't a DC10.
27:47 and one of the very first Easyjet, from when you had to dial a premium rate number! 🤗
0:40 Tu-154
Those Annoucements take me back to when i Was 4 running around the moving walkways waiting for our flight back to Stuttgart. What a great time that Was... i am still going to Mallorca every year its such a beautiful Island...
awesome documentary plane spotting on 1997
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
Loved the video thanku so much love an God bless x
Thanks very much Wendy
Nice video! Thanks for sharing this!
I love these classic videos. Keep 'em coming!
God I miss the L-1011 and DC-10
Belíssimo Registro Parabéns Muito bom
😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
10:38 Wow, I never realized the Tristar L 1011 landed with it's nose so high! Was that normal?
Yes, completely normal
This is a brilliant Video for one reason ,you can see the changes in liveries for traditionally to ugly ,some still had cheatlines and some of it the plain white .
Interesting you have British Airways Boeing 737-400 G-BNNL that was written off when with Adam Air. RIP to the 102 souls who died onboard Adam Air flight 574.
Love the 727. Fast and loud!
90s a bit late for court line I used to love all there different colours they flew mainly from Luton. 😊
Só Relíquia Como Eu Queira Voltar No tempo 😢😢😢🇧🇷✈️
Hey, I like your videos very much, brings me memories of all the airlines that no longer exist, thanks keep up the good videos
Wow!!! Add to FAV right away 👍
Wow KLM 747 , MartinAir 747 :)
I saw the TriStar in the thumbnail and had to click
Fantastic.
This video is a dream.
Tantos bonitos recuerdos de mi base!...epoca dorada...♥️👌
Wow fantastic video of amazing planes
Airtours (Thomas Cook) defunded in the 2008 3:30 Aerolloyd MD-83 D-ALLE 5:51 SAFA (Air Charter) 10:10 Caledonian L1011 G-BBAE 11:01, LTE EC-EFX 11:39, Aviaco EC-BYE 21:09 Nostalgic airlines of my years of young girl
A lot of these carriers does not excist anymore...
Very true!
Sadly McDonald's still afloat, tough ..
Yeah, that was my thought when watching the video. It is also sad that many of the aircraft types vanished (almost) completely: L-1011, B727, B737-200, DC-10, etc.
very cool😊👍
8:08 that 757 stopped pretty damn quick compared to everything else
Yeah, that's nostalgic!
Lovely
Cool
Wow that is so amazing channel and plane too..😁😁🤣😁🤗
Glad you enjoyed it Fredy!
Fantastic memories of PMI ;-)
Nice video, but that can't be from '97.. D-AGEP the 737-700 from 14:41 has flown it's first service in March '98..
Nice. An 747-SP from Qatar, an IL86 from Atlant-Soyuz, and that DC-9-32 from Adria is weird because supposedly they were all not flying in 97 ( S5-ABE or S5-ABF ? ).
2:33 what is that? Never saw that plane in my life
BAe 146
All of those children I hear in the background are now middle aged adults!!
hahaha yes!
I was 5 in 1997, and I'm almost 28 now.
@@adriend3502 i was 18, im 41 this year!
31 geile Minuten 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Most airlines in this video doesn't exist anymore. Monarch, LTU, Britannia, Aero Lloyd, Sabena, Spanair and some others. Pretty sad.
Yes and the currrent crisis isn't going to help airlines either... so maybe more will go under...
Britannia Airways owner Thomson Holidays was taken over by the Preussag Group (which later became TUI AG) in 1999 but kept its name until 2004 when the airline was renamed ThomsonFly.
Thomson Holidays then merged with First Choice Holidays in 2007 along with their airline, First Choice Airways (formerly Air 2000) the airline fleets were combined and renamed Thomson Airways.
Then in 2017, Thomson Holidays and Thomson Airways were renamed TUI and TUI Airways respectively in the UK.
So it could easily be said that Britannia (and First Choice Airways) have just been renamed.
I like to think so anyway. 🙂
They didn’t habe a chance against Ryanair or Easyjet
It's not just the many airlines that are gone. Many aircraft manufacturers shown in the video are gone too! 😮
good old times :-)
0:59 Ту 154 !
Love the crossair McDonald's plane in the vid.
Nowadays nearly impossible to spot this!
1-00 super!!!
The Year i was born
Nice variety of rare planes nowadays. Now only airbus oder Boeing…
16:58 Martinair 747-200😎
In Palma, nowadays you can only see b737 and a320
Those engines sure run a lot cleaner now.
back when the triple seven was still brand new-😢
No Air Berlin in Palma :D ?
back then most of the connections where opperated by LTU
seeing new planes looks like trash. Nostalgia never gets forgotten.
What! The Tu-154 action the thrust reverse before the wheels hit the track .
Yes, it's possible on that a/c type.
The Trdents did, as could the Convair
Is it me or landings back then look quite faster than what we do today?
The late 90s, was the Platnum Age of airline liveries
The Time when there flew great planes and not the boring Ryanair, Jet2 and Easyjet planes😯
Zocker J oh hello
I am your subscriber
Alex top channel Hi there👋🏻😁 thank you for subscribing😊🙏🙏
The last years, before Ryanair came. When you got at least a free drink and a sandwich on a charter flight. Today? High prices, cramped seating, no service, drunks on the seat next to you. Not everything was good back in the days, but nothing got better
29:51 to see Iberia 737 is rare...
Very rare indeed... and we have so many kind of rare Iberia planes on other videos like the L-1011, 757 and even I believe a 747-300 which they never operated themselves... but was leased possibly from Air atlanta Icelandic
Where are those Premiair DC-10's based at (or from). Checked with Wikipedia and that company (according to that weblink) is from Indonesia. Is that correct?
Md80 Swiss “Mc Donald’s”. It’s in my 1/500 scale collection
I flew to Menorca from Gatwick in the late 90s, cannot remember the airline though, it was a 737 of some sort and I remember baby in the name but don't think it was BMI baby
Avião so para quando o motorista pucha o frio de não?
tábom então 😊😊😊
D-AERK Is visit in ACE (Lanzarote) Canary Islands in the 90,s 7:03
Sure miss the tri-jets.
19:26 what this aircraft?
