Linda is the best. Come see her skills at Frenchy's restaurant dock at Clearwater beach. (Grab a cold beer and a buffalo grouper sandwich while you are there) Follow us on Facebook: / 103482553112679
Probably 15 years ago there was kid at the beach that works the dock during summer, probably around 13, and he would do this when boats came to fill up with fuel or grab something from the store. Very impressive no matter who’s doing it.
I grew up on the docks and lived aboard. Needless to say I've handled a line plenty. I've never seen anyone do that. Very cool, and for all you "that isn't proper" technique, I agree. However, when speed counts, and it does when docking short hand in wind, I'd rather have her. It can always be made correct after the boat is secured.
@@gatoslokosforever what? are you stupid? her name is litteraly in the title and said in the video as well as in the description. Maybe use your brain next time.
Every single person has something they excel at.. most of us never find it. I am sure she has other awesome talents, but that one is good enough for Best Ever!
I used to practice that exact technique frantically during my short wait at the ramp while my dad walked over to the truck and trailer after every fishing trip when I was a kid.
I just learned how to do this cause I saw one of our summer employees do this the other week at the boat rental place I manage. Needless to say, I’m definitely gonna get this down perfect to up the tips I get handed when boats come back lol
That type of line of work is very common in places with lots of rental boats that need a fast turnaround. It’s very common to see that in busy marinas as a fast temporary solution to tying off a boat.
In windy conditions blowing you away from the dock. You can stand on deck and swirl the dock line around the cleat. Jumping onto the dock and trying hold a large boat is dangerous. Good video.
I did this once 45 years ago during a race, from the high side and everyone saw it but I was never able to do it again and I have since forgotten who was on the boat that saw it.
No round turn on the cleat and she used weather hitches! To any person that works in the maritime field professionally, weather hitches will lock down a line if a heavy strain is applied. This may cause the line to have to be cut. New synthetic line is expensive!
I can do that, learned it while dock handling at Catalina, CA... also from much farther away.... the locking technique actually came in handy while working.... Also I looked bad ass for the stripper boat haha
You did a little smiley face there, cute. Just make sure you keep those remarks on youtube because im the type of guy you do that shit behind her back infront of me we are going to....have a little conversation off to the side. I cant stand a bully.
Are you trying to say I was being a bully? Ummm, I sincerely thought that was a man. I wasn't trying to be mean however I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. No need to play tough over the Internet. Simple mistake.
I bought a new, flexible rope (line) so I could practice doing that on dry land with no witnesses. If I get it down and learn a few knots then I'll have confidence to take my boat to the launching area.
what series of unfortunate events have occurred for me to be watching this woman that I thought for sure was a guy flinging dock lines around like she was Toby's massa in a previous life... 2020 here we come!
It's really quite easy to learn. When I was in SD on a sail boat with my dad as a kid, I saw the dock guy do it like she did. I practiced and was able to do it by the end of the day. You just need to learn how to get the loop to fall on the cleat right to finish.
reminds me of those shooters that set records in hitting targets really fast...but put them in stressful environment(where stuff explodes) and they wont hit anything x)
I'm going to have to mount a cleat on my patio so I can sit around and practice this.
Ahahahhaha
I was thinking the same thing
That’s a better idea lol. You can find my dumbass standing on the dock looking stupid practicing all day.
9 years ago he’s still getting comments on this 😂

some guy at my marina taught me how to do this when I was like 8.... it's not as hard as it looks, and it's DEFINITELY worth the time to learn!

it's a him you bigot, not her

I'd be worried it'll break the horn before there's a chance. Not a single wrap on the base.
Every single person has something they excel at.. most of us never find it. I am sure she has other awesome talents, but that one is good enough for Best Ever!
I watched this like 10 times, It's so satisfying to watch xD
Linda is awesome! Thanks for sharing.

This is what wonder woman does for retirement. Still rocking the lasso
I can do that, here hold my beer.

Vaaaary nice!! Linda I'm coming by to learn that!
After watching it twice, I now feel like I'm an expert at it, also. That's what many years of CZcams has done to me.
The only person I know on CZcams that is famous WITH clothes still ON
@Unknown quantity Slowly searching reality it’s from a long time when CZcams was poorly moderated

You mean famous female? Or....

Thanks for giving me something to work on this summer
Hahaha LOL now I know what Iam going to practice next week. Thanks for the idea.

Seems like such nice people. Have a great day
Fantastic, never seen something like this
Even watching in slow-mo I'm like how is that even possible
It's like watching the swing of a pro golfer in slo-mo with the hip rotation
Dude! That's awesome!!!
Sweet Ocean Cloud by Marillion. Thx for watching.
Nice I learned how to do that awhile ago but it does take some practice. good job
got stoked when I saw the Frenchys logo at the end. vaca down there every year during the illinois winter and its always a must stop!
Those are otherworldly skills.
I'm in LOVE!!!
Nice yeller fin you got there... built right here in ole FL

Love & miss Frenchy’s!
She's the Chuck Norris of line handling!
incredible the best I have seen.

It's a gift, she rocks the dock!

SoutheastBluesMan Ocean Cloud by Marillion
You do it at all and I'll be impressed.
the guys on Shem Creek in Charleston do it like that its pretty impressive
I did this once 45 years ago during a race, from the high side and everyone saw it but I was never able to do it again and I have since forgotten who was on the boat that saw it.
This is pretty easy to do. Most dockstaff who've worked the job over a year would know how to do this. Especially at a big or busy marina.
i love when people figure out ways to do stuff quickly that works.
Give that woman a raise !!!
I still can't comprehend what she just did there... even in slow motion.
That's Awesome!!!
Amazing!

do a video or stfu
And she has the cutest dimples too!

Those are some skills. Maybe I should practice that.
Smooth as ice! 👍
I liked it, thumbs up
Very cool. What’s the song at the end?
Amazing
Awesome!
Haha I’ve been there a lot and have yet to see her, but I’ve been practicing haha
The 8s I can do but the cinch is where I’m impressed
Really cool ...!!!
What else can you say but WOW !!!!
Good one..she's swift and slick..
Linda, you're awesome! don't let anyone tell you different
That's badass right there.
That is very nice skills
waar heb ik dat ergens zien hangen aan de trapleuning
fantastic way take the knots.....
I wish most of the boats/deckhands that I lock through had skills like this.
Dinner and a show!
wow amazing
That dude was awesome!
that's a woman
Ooops😁

you mean the testosterone pills?
You just had me watch again, only to stare at that dudes ass lol
Why were you staring at a mans ass
That's some sweet line handling. Nice, Linda!
That is simply amazing! How the hell does she do that? Very good with her hands...
but can she do that with a 2" water soaked line in a lock when it is 20 degrees
Fellow Tugboater?
Or with a wind pushing the boat off the dock.
I bought a new, flexible rope (line) so I could practice doing that on dry land with no witnesses. If I get it down and learn a few knots then I'll have confidence to take my boat to the launching area.

Lol I will never be able to do that shes talented as hell
oh good ㅎㅎ ㅎㅎ 굿 멋입니다
Danggg, skillz!
That was cooooooooooolllll......!!
This technique is VERY handy coming from someone who worked at a marina
Wow 👏👏👏👏awsome
Linda is my kind of woman - one that can handle dock lines like a pro.

Been doing that trick for 35 years.
I'm one of the youngins at our marina, im going to have to perfect this so I look really cool to the OG boaters
no, first learn to make a proper cleat hitch. Looks impressive, but result not that good
We've got a badass in here!
How many tweeked out hours did she spend learning that u think?
this woman has more gains than I ever will get in my life
She's been doing that a long minute!!
I’m gonna learn this to earn hella tips this summer
What's the name of the song at the end?
reminds me of those shooters that set records in hitting targets really fast...but put them in stressful environment(where stuff explodes) and they wont hit anything x)
Sweet!!!!
