  • Today I will review Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic liquid wax to find out whether this could be the world's Best ceramic wax for beginners. The idea of today's video is to show you how to apply Ceramic Wax, explain the process and go through what to do in the event of getting streaking on the paintwork.
    The purpose of filming this one was to show you how it works on a car that hasn't been clay barred or machine polished and to examine how a beginner may find using this wax. I will also explain the difference between Meguiar's ultimate paste wax and the new Hybrid ceramic wax.

    Hi Dave brilliant video as usual!! Can I ask for some advice? I have a silver car and although it can get rich gloss I struggle to get the glassy like gloss I normally get when I do family cars which are black and red etc. I am going to give it a finishing polish which my machine polisher but I want that wet look which no matter what I use I struggle to get. Any tips would be great

    • @epicautomotivedetailing
      @epicautomotivedetailing  Před 3 lety +4

      I think in general silver cars always look really flat even when polished but the only I would recommend for that perfect finish is a clay bar then a good machine polish with a decent compound to start with. After that I've used many glazes before applying a wax which have plenty of fillers. Alternatively I like g techniq crystal serum light then follow up 48 hours later with exoV4 for that deep wet look. What products are using at the moment? I feel your pain silver cars lack that impact from a good wax

As it was hot this PM and the car panel had already dried within minutes of jet washing it, I used a saturated cloth, the applied the ceramic liquid wax, then wiped it off nearly straight away with a dry cloth. Yeah, agree that Meguiars new ceramic liquid was is easier to apply than the wet wax spray on. The buff off on Meguiars stuff has always been good.
    You could extend the durability by applying their new ceramic quick detailer spray over the top. and this comes in a clay pad kit for even more value. great for the average joes, but I would always polish after clay bar, due to the micro marring clay always leaves.
    The only problem I have with this is the cost. Meguiars are always at the top end for cost, but the up side is, as you say, all their products are pretty much idiot proof :)

      I havent tried that myself and ultimate paste wax is very short term so even if you got the gloss it wouldnt last that long. Ceramic detailers are quicker and would be better to apply on top

      If it was a spray and you wanted durability from a single use then turtlewax ceramic spray has the edge but it does have drawbacks like the application method. If you clean your car on a regular basis and want something that gives a nice gloss and durability for a 2-3 months then Yum, Meguiars , garage therapy are all winners. Brill video. Glad you mentioned the different product results based if you have a garage, outdoors, everyday car, where you live etc. Because where you park your car and drive it actually does affect the product. Come on guys, lets help David increase his subscriber numbers. If we all got just one person through personnel recommendation, he will double his subscribers. We all know he is worth it. It would be great to compare the Garage Therapy Ceramic Sealant (£18) with the Meguairs, but the GT Ceramic sealant, does not have wax in it, as far as I know. Keep it up David, as your wife would say.😝
