This is what music is, I love it it's beautiful.
I like the really subtle use of microtonality. It's cool that the theremin and voice are both continuous so you could get those really interesting harmonies that were entirely outside the chromatic grid

People have already done it before
Maud It's not the complicated actually. In fact I think Carolina once shared a tutorial for this on one of the social media platforms she's on.
In one of my undergraduate engineering labs, we were supposed to build our own theremins out of a bread board, capacitors, and resistors. Plenty of teams in the class succeeded, my team either had a bad component or just fucked up the wiring. Definitely possible, but it's probably hard to make something that sounds good and is playable. I mean, you can make a stringed instrument out of rubber bands and a box, but that doesn't mean it's good.
