      Martin Lienesch yeah I was thinking the same thing because like wouldn’t ALL THE MOVEMENT in the room cause that thing to become untuned?

    • @David-vs9ci
      @David-vs9ci Před 4 lety +15

      I think movement on left side where the volume antena is doesn’t affect the tune but on the right side it does. I imagine that her part changes in tune a bit night by night depending on the movements but it’s the same arrangement. Also all the musicians practice together and have pretty precise movements so the more they practice together the more precise she can be.

      I did notice she has her own cleared area with a fair distance from anyone, the camera angles are a little deceptive with distance between her and everything else. but you see it at the start.

    As an experiment for integrating a theremin with an orchestra, this has gone very right. An interesting and fun to listen to piece.
    What I thought listening to the theremins continuous tone was that a foot operated kill switch for playing stakkato notes might be a useful addition to the instrument. Just my idea, brainfart, thought it might be worth mentioning. ^^)

    Wow. It's so nice to hear a piece where the theremin's basic nature is a fundamental resource of the piece! When playing The Swan or Vocalise, the thereminist has to fight the instrument's nature to make it sound like something else.
    First time, also, that I've seen a thereminist who i'd put in the same category with Clara Rockmore. Ms. Eyck, you are a phenomenal virtuousa.

    Un sommet du travail rythmique de son auteur ! Ce qui différencie, selon moi, Steve Reich et sa transe occidentale à la rigueur toute mathématique (que j'adore, par ailleurs) et Régis Campo, c'est le moelleux, la suavité de cette expression rythmique qui rappelle, par éclats, le meilleur du Smile de Brian Wilson.
